Fantastic experience: My long time family dentist retired recently and as someone who is pretty obsessed with good oral hygiene I spent a long time researching dental offices in Kitchener/Waterloo to really find the one that stood out from the pack. Myself and my Fiancée had our first assessment appointment with Enamel Republic this afternoon and I definitely feel like we made the right choice. The staff was extremely friendly, the office was clean and modern, and the level of detail we got in our assessment really exceeded my expectations. If you are in the market for a new dental clinic, I would definitely check out Enamel Republic. From what I have experienced so far, their google review rating is 100% justified.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with the service and care that I received. The dentist prides himself with giving care and attention to his patients as per his website. Normally, in the past, when I went in for a cleaning it would automatically include....scaling, flossing (especially under my bridge work) and polishing. Like in the past, I always had to pay for any dental work out of pocket. Being an online ESL teacher for the past 10 years I had no dental coverage. Now, being a senior, I finally have dental coverage being offered to me this past August through the government dental plan and I was so relieved, because I haven't been able to have any dental work done, not even a check up over these last 5 years due to inflation. Teeth cleaning alone usually costs $250+ out of my pocket, but food, and other necessities always came first these last few years. . So I was relived that I could finally get this service done now with very little money out of my pocket. This past September I was so happy to finally make the appointment and get my teeth checked and cleaned. The hygienist took some x-rays, not of my whole mouth. Just both sides. But by the end of my appointment I was so disappointed.... the dental hygienist scrapped the tarter from between my teeth which is the typical procedure for cleaning teeth...but that was it! The rest of the procedure wasn't done. The dentist came in during the last 4 minutes and checked her work and looked at my teeth. I had a couple of questions about my one tooth since the veneer had cracks in it. He said he doesn't do cosmetic work. That was it! I went home and after thinking more about the poor service I received, I realized that... had I paid out of pocket, the proper teeth cleaning process would have been performed. But since it's a government dental plan, the least amount of work is performed. That's my overall opinion. So, I decided to make a complaint to the dentist. A few days later the dentist had phoned me and left a phone message apologizing for the poor service and said that the money would be reimbursed to my dental care plan so I could get a proper cleaning done. I was very impressed with his message and I accepted his apology via email. But, all that seemed to be talk, because a month later (Oct) there was no reimbursement received on my dental plan and as of November 18th, there's still no reimbursement. So I messaged the dental office a second time only to get a reply that they have sent the info... that's it! So it's been two months later and I'm still waiting to get a proper check up and teeth cleaning. Hence, I decided to make a complaint here.

Fantastic experience: I had such a good experience at this dental office. Everyone was super friendly, from the receptionists to the dentist. I went in feeling really anxious, but Dr. Hornby took the time to thoroughly explain the procedures I needed, which helped calm me down a lot. During the actual work, both he and Liz kept checking in to make sure I was comfortable, and it made a huge difference. I really appreciate how caring and patient they were.

Both the hygienist and the doctor took time to explain what was happening and kept me in the loop every step. Dr Hornby also kept checking in on me throughout (which was much appreciated because I am usually quite fearful of dental work). Both procedures were very prompt as well. Fantastic experience: My former dentist placed a crown and ground right through the top of it trying to adjust the bite. She shrugged it off as common practice. I was super disappointed by that, so I switched to Dr Kyle, based on the online reviews. Since then, I have had not looked back! I've had two crowns done by Kyle. He "nailed" them both with absolutely "zero" grinding of the top of the crown - he is very good. He really knows his stuff! Kyle is very gentle, and as others have stated, I get the impression that he genuinely cares about his patients. I also really like the fact that he explains every move he makes and takes digital photos before and after so I know what is going on and can see the end result. During the consultations he gave me options, then let me decide without any kind of stress. His assistant Liz is very friendly and always chats me up. At the front desk, Cassandra is lively and happy - a fun person to interact with. Their new office on Belmont is clean, bright and very welcoming. Overall, I am very pleased with Enamel Republic. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: As far as dentists go, this place is awesome. Super friendly staff, have done great work on my horrible mouth, and it's an easy place to find. The hygenists are not too aggressive with the picks, they verify the work done with the dentists, and the work I have had done by Dr. Hornby himself has been flawless. Highly recommend becoming a patient of this place. We moved further away than we used to, but we still make the drive out every 3 months because it's 100% worth it.
