Negative experience: Worst experience ever. I went to another dentist down the street because I wanted to remove my wisdom tooth. They told me I needed a panoramic X-ray and asked if I had any recent dental records (within the last 3 years) so I could avoid paying again for new imaging. They quoted me $80 for the panoramic X-ray and $60 for the check-up. Since I had previously done major dental work at Toronto Lakeshore Dental, they already had my records. To avoid transferring files and paying the extra $140, I decided to go back there. I called them and the receptionist said they would try to squeeze me in the same day and that she would call me back in 5 minutes. I waited over an hour and never received a call back. So I decided to go there in person. At the clinic, I explained that I needed my wisdom tooth removed. The receptionist said the doctor could see me shortly. When I met the dentist, the interaction lasted about 2 minutes. No X-ray was performed. The dentist simply looked and said the tooth needed to come out — which was exactly why I had come in the first place. After this very brief visit, they charged me $400. There was no clear explanation of pricing beforehand, and I was never informed that such a high fee would apply for such a short consultation with no imaging. I went back to the other dentist down the street. They took a panoramic X-ray, properly scanned my teeth with the machine, and charged me only $80, even waiving the $60 check-up fee. They also gave me a same-day appointment for the wisdom tooth extraction, and the total cost came to $350. They even explained the government dental insurance benefits available. Meanwhile, I was in pain and Toronto Lakeshore Dental could only offer me an appointment two days later. My experience felt extremely disappointing. The clinic may look nice and fancy, but my visit felt like I was charged $400 for a 2-minute check-up with no X-ray and no real assessment. I would not recommend going here.

Fantastic experience: I have anxiety with dental clinics and dentists but when I went here, I felt safe. From the front desk staff, to the dental assistant, the dentist, and the coordinator, everyone was friendly and polite. Information about your situation was explained clearly. Nothing was explained like going around the bush. Highly recommend going here.

In my last visit, I could feel the dental hygienists really making sure every part of my mouth and gums were taken care of. I think her name was Higs. The dentists are very skilled and considerate. The staff are really welcoming and I love that they can communicate through many different ways like email, text, phone, video.

Negative experience: Really expensive- found the staff to be extremely weird… even with insurance, the prices are ridiculous. My husband goes to another dentist with half the cost… so def in my opinion not worth it. I’m actually very surprised that this clinic has this much positive reviews.

Toronto Lakeshore Dental has state-of-the-art tools & machinery, are extremely supportive in providing me with the best care, (and the hygienists are very gentle with me). My previous dentist of 20+ years only addressed concerns when they were present. I like that TLD is proactive, gives me the whole picture of what my dental health is and creates a plan for me to address everything over time at my own pace. Thank you team!

The staff checked my temperature,asked the Covid screening questions which I always appreciate. I went in and the process was fast,comfortable, and professional. Fantastic experience: Over the last 34 years in Toronto, I’ve been to four different dental practices — one downtown and three in Etobicoke. Toronto Lakeshore Dental is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. After my very first visit, I got home and asked my wife, “Is this what modern dentistry is supposed to feel like?” And honestly… that pretty much sums it up. So many dental offices feel frozen in time — same layout, same equipment, maybe a fresh coat of paint or a new X-ray machine, but fundamentally outdated. And in my experience, that often extends to the people too. Dentistry was different when they graduated 20 years ago, its evolved now. And the new generation of hygienists may have less time in the chair, but their education is modern, updated and clearly reflected in how they work. At Toronto Lakeshore Dental, you truly feel like you’re getting the best of the best. Not just in terms of equipment, but the hygienists themselves. Every single one I’ve interacted with has been friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and constantly check in to make sure you’re comfortable. They wear dental loupes (had to Google that — specialized magnification glasses), use headsets to communicate seamlessly and work with a level of precision and care I’ve not experienced until going here. Reminded me of a really well oiled team like the pit crews in F1, everyone's communicating and working together. I always assumed cleanings were just supposed to hurt a bit. Turns out… absolutely not. My cleanings here have been pain-free and genuinely relaxing. Watching Netflix in a super comfortable chair while they work is just the cherry on top. The reception staff are friendly, personable and accommodating. The clinic is newly renovated, spotless, offers free parking, direct billing and even has custom welcome screens with your name when you enter the exam room. I genuinely don’t dread the dentist anymore. It just feels like an hour to relax and take care of myself. Whoever’s running this practice truly knows what they’re doing. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a cavity filled by Dr. Shin, and it was honestly the best dental experience I’ve ever had. The next day, I looked in my mouth to see if I could tell the difference, and it blends in perfectly with the rest of my teeth. She moulded and shaped the filling so well that it looks completely natural, and exactly like the rest of my teeth! with the same ridges and contours as a real tooth. I actually have a filling on the other side done by a different dentist, and you can clearly tell it’s a filling — it’s flat and doesn’t match the natural shape of a tooth. The difference in Dr. Shin’s work is night and day. On top of her incredible skill, Dr. Shin is very calm and well-spoken, which made the whole experience so comfortable. If you have dental anxiety, have kids who are nervous about the dentist, or just don’t enjoy dental visits in general, this is absolutely the place to go. I couldn’t be happier and I’m so impressed with Dr. Shin. The staff is amazing the hygienist, the assistance even the people at reception are very kind and welcoming!

I had wisdom tooth removal surgery with Dr. Joo and it went smoothly, despite it being a tricky predicament with a horizontally impacted tooth. I felt supported by all of the staff. Fantastic experience: Dentists, hygienists, and admin are all great at this practice. The facility is incredibly clean, and there are above and beyond comforts like the ability to watch Netflix from a ceiling-mounted tv while you get a cleaning. The staff seem to enjoy where they work which makes a huge difference as a patient. The admins take great care of everything with insurance, and they have a seamless booking system with appointment reminders and remain flexible to help when an appointment change is needed. She delivers a thorough yet gentle service, and adds a friendly touch, which makes for a much more relaxing environment throughout the procedure. She provides clear, detailed and knowledge-based instructions for maintenance and upkeep, which have proven to be a great help between appointments, and goes the extra mile to ensure there are no gaps in understanding when sharing information about the care being provided. From the Reception, to the Dental Hygienists, to the Doctors who perform the procedure’s, my experience with them has been nothing but professional, and comfortable. They have helped me heal from Tooth Trauma, as well as Root Canal and Crown Procedure's. I greatly appreciate them, and would recommend them to anyone. I had dental surgery and while it wasn't pleasant they ensured i was well cared for and as comfortable as possible. They have options for additional help for people with anxiety around dental work. I also had a great experience with my cleaning - they're careful, and check in about any signs of discomfort or sensitivity. They check in about costs in a very up-front way so you know what is covered, and how much you'll have to pay out of pocket before you proceed.

Fantastic experience: Reyam - my dental hygienist is the best I've had. Been to three or more hygienist before but Reyam is exceptional and friendly. She is meticulous yet very conscious of her customer if they feel pain or uncomfortable in the process. A very nice demeanor beyond the warmth of her smile. Not getting my teeth clean with anyone else but with Reyam! There is also a paid parking at the back of clinic but if you ask them, they'd give you a parking code making it free. Now that's convenience without the hassles of street parking!

Stephanie was also so kind and patient. She explained my treatment and insurance options in a way that was so easy to follow, which made the whole process completely stress-free. Yesterday, I went in for fillings, and there was a moment where my jaw completely locked. It was scary, but Dr. Shin and dental assistant Zyrill stayed calm, patient, and supportive the entire time. Zyrill guided me through some exercises (drawing on her own experience with TMJ) and was able to help me unlock my jaw successfully. The office even followed up with me the next day to make sure I was doing okay, which was so reassuring. I can honestly say this has been the most comfortable and positive dental experience I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Toronto Lakeshore Dental to anyone looking for not just great dental care, but truly OUTSTANDING patient care.

Negative experience: Hi everyone, updated review here. So after 2 years of being a loyal and regular patient, Lakeshore Dental wants to charge me $75 for cancelling my appointment. Here's the thing: I didn't cancel it, but rescheduled it. But they keep emailing me about the cancellation charge. Well, they just lost a loyal patient.

Fantastic experience: An absolute 5+ star. They’ve replaced my front tooth crown and did a phenomenal job. I’ve had to replace this crown 3x in the past 24 years but this is by far the best, you can not see the difference. I would highly recommend lakeshore dental to everyone.

Fantastic experience: DENTISTRY OF THE FUTURE You might be like me... It took way too long to switch dentists. Truly impressed with the 5 star service that I had here. This place is as organized, clean and efficient as can be. For the last 20 years of my life, I got used to waiting an additional hour after arriving for a scheduled appointment. This place is different. After arriving, they offer me water and the front desk uses their earpiece to call the hygienists in the back. (Huge shout-out to Reyam) Reyam was my hygienist and she was cordial, efficient, professional and sharp. As a new patient, they did new patient photos and X-rays that got passed through a cutting edge AI solution that helped identify potential cavities and other problems areas. Everything was shared on the big screen so that I could understand everything they were seeing. Then, for the cleaning, my chair leans back and I can see a TV screen on the ceiling with Netflix! That's right! You can watch Netflix while they work on you! You can pick whatever you want to watch. Finally, they made it easy to schedule a follow up and they had already run estimates through my insurance to make it easy to discuss potential next steps and associated costs. This efficiency is possible because they keep the communication going between the front desk and the hygienists through their earpiece throughout your appointment. Negative experience: Money grab dental office. They claimed I needed 6 gum grafts, when I was hesitant to book them the receptionist said “don’t you want to have a nice smile?” I got a second opinion and don’t actually need any gum grafts. I can’t believe a dental office would abuse their power and try to push surgeries on patients for money.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and friendly clinic. My hygienist Samantha was caring and efficient. They always have the cutest goodies to take home at every visit.
