Welcome to Parkview Dental! We serve the downtown Toronto’s Harbourfront, City Place and Fort York neighbourhoods. Founded by Toronto dentists Dr. Afif and Dr. Poulos, Waterview Dental provides comprehensive general and cosmetic dental care, from periodontics and oral surgery to pediatric care. Our convenient early morning and late evening hours make for an easy stop on the way in or out of the city.
We offer a 24 hour text line for your emergencies for active patients of record. We see same day emergencies for all patients. We will bill your insurance directly, and take care of all your needs!

3 months ago Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this office. Dr. Pejman is amazing. She replaced a filling quickly and pain-free, and filed it down perfectly for my bite. She also offered to adjust the filling further if my nightguard didn't fit properly (but it still fits perfectly). Really happy with my experience here. Update: Went back recently for an emergency repair. They were able to book me in the next day. Very professional environment and the doctor and assistant were amazing and checked on me throughout the procedure. 10/10 recommend.

4 months ago Negative experience: I want to start by saying that the dentist herself, Dr. Joyia, was knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. I felt well cared for during the exam, and I would have been happy to continue as her patient. Unfortunately, my experience with the hygienist significantly detracted from the visit. Her approach felt abrupt, and the cleaning technique was overly aggressive and painful. At one point, I winced, and when she asked for feedback, I shared that the instrument she was using (which resembled a nail-drill-style tool) felt as though it struck an area near the roof of my mouth above the gum line, which was bleeding. Her response was, “I’m not calling you a liar, but that didn’t happen.” This felt dismissive and uncomfortable, particularly in a clinical setting where patient feedback and trust are essential. I did in fact have a cut on the roof of my mouth for days after. I shared these concerns with both the dentist and the front desk staff because I was genuinely perturbed by the interaction. The total bill for a routine cleaning and checkup exceeded $650. I made it clear that my dissatisfaction was not about the cost, but about the experience and the manner in which concerns were handled. The following day, a manager contacted me. During that conversation, in reference to the bill and my concerns, I was told that the clinic “accepts welfare.” As a working professional using insurance, this comment felt inappropriate, irrelevant, and troubling. It came across as a microaggressive racist remark and further compounded an already negative experience. I asserted I will not be revisiting their clinic, and they waived the remaining balance not covered by benefits as I would need a new checkup at a new clinic to start my search for care over. I am sharing this to provide a full and honest account. While the dentist herself was excellent, the overall experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unheard. I hope the clinic reflects on communication, bedside manner, and how patient concerns are addressed going forward.

4 months ago Fantastic experience: I was in search of a dentist and saw that Parkview dental clinic had really great reviews. I was very lucky that though December is there busy time with folks using up their insurance benefits before a year end, I called and was able to get an appointment for a new patient cleaning and exam for just two days later. I arrived and it was greeted by the incredibly friendly receptionist, and by the time I sat down. My dental hygienist, was already ready to do my cleaning. My hygienist name was Zara and she was absolutely phenomenal. I hadn’t had a cleaning in sometime and she was so reassuring and also gentle and honestly made the cleaning go by so quickly and also suggested some really great products to use at home. I then moved on to getting my exams and I wasn’t able to grab the name of the person who assisted me with my dental exams but she was an incredibly lovely person, and I had such a great experience with Dr. Vo. She explained various dental terms with ease that made it easy for me to understand and when chatting about my x-rays and exam, it felt like I was chatting with a friend. She was so kind and I felt so comfortable. I’m so glad that I found Parkview dental the team there is truly one of a kind!

4 months ago Negative experience: I went to Parkview Dental (Fleet st location) on Nov 15 with one clear goal: get a referral for a dental implant consultation. Since it was my first visit, I completed the standard intake exam. I was assigned to Dr. Sindy Ha and explained that I was hoping to fit the consultation and ideally treatment in before the year ended for insurance reasons. I also told her I was new to the Canadian system and unsure how referrals worked. She was informative about bridge vs implant options, and confirmed (in the moment) that she was submitting the referral electronically. She told me to expect a call within 1–2 weeks. During the same visit, she pointed out a few small cavities, not urgent, and suggested we address them at my next cleaning. I asked for a February appointment since my last cleaning was in August, but she insisted January/February and booked it for January. Turns out I was right and it needed to be February, so I had to call to correct it later. Innocent mistake, easy fix; no big deal. Two weeks passed. No call about the implant. I phoned on Monday, Dec 1, and was informed that Dr. Ha wasn’t in, but that she’d return my call on Tuesday. She didn’t. On Wednesday, I went in person. She was out to lunch. She finally called me at 7:55pm, five minutes before closing and asked if I made an appointment to treat the "tooth decay" even though she had made the appointment on my behalf during the visit. Then came the twist: she claimed she never submitted the referral because she was under the impression that we had a mutual understanding that the “tooth decay” had to be treated before a referral could be made since I cannot receive a dental implant with active tooth decay. That’s news to me. She never said that during our visit. In fact, the only thing she warned me might need to happen before the implant was Invisalign, not cavities. I made it clear, multiple times, that I wanted a consultation just to get informed, and she agreed it was smart. Even if I could not get the implant done before the cavities are treated, that shouldn't delay a consultation. Also, she never used the term “tooth decay” until this follow-up call, only “cavities.” I understand they are interchangeable terms. This an important distinction for patients without a healthcare background as tooth decay sounds more urgent than the familiar and more widely used term of cavity, and frankly, it felt like damage control to justify why she hadn’t done what she said she did. She initially claimed that it was minor cavities in the initial visit but made it seem more dire in the follow-up phone call. She gave no apology for not calling Tuesday. No apology for the “misunderstanding.” And now, thanks to the delay, it’s unlikely I’ll even get seen before the year ends. I didn’t bother arguing on the phone as I just wanted her to finally put the referral through. Dr. Ha’s behavior was negligent, dismissive, and unprofessional. She showed a profound disrespect for my time, my treatment plan priorities, and a lack of listening skills. Had she owned her mistake and tried to resolve it respectfully, I could’ve given her a second chance. But this entire interaction has ruined what started as a great experience. That said, I originally left a 5-star review because the front desk and intake staff are phenomenal. They were friendly, organized, and incredibly helpful. They deserve recognition; specifically Luana who has been the one that mostly helped me through this administrative process. The contrast between my experience with reception and Dr. Ha is jarring and I am deeply disappointed. I am choosing to stay at Parkview Dental due to my positive experience with the clinic initially and want to give them another chance under a different provider.

Someone would say that I’m even scared of the dentist, but my experience with Parkview dental has changed those feelings of anxiety entirely. Even when my regular hygienist is not available, and I have to switch, they always ensure that I am comfortable. Their staff is super friendly and kind. My overall experience with Parkview dental has definitely raised the bar in terms of dental hygiene. They use a water instrument for cleaning which is very gentle. They have direct billing for insurance, so you only have to pay the portion that is not covered by your insurance plan.

7 months ago Negative experience: I visited this clinic for a 1-hour cleaning (polish, scaling, and fluoride). Although I had clearly informed them in advance that my gums are very sensitive and I needed a gentle approach, the hygienist flossed very fast and forcefully at the end, which caused bleeding and left me in pain. I was disappointed because I felt my request for gentleness was not respected. Patients deserve to be listened to. I hope the clinic will take this feedback seriously so others with sensitive gums can have a better experience.

8 months ago Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Parkview Dental for almost 4 years now all of my family go here as the service is exceptional. The hygienist I go to is excellent and gentle. the staff is very friendly. Dr. Vo is very thorough and always takes the time to explain things clearly, making sure I fully understand my treatment and options, She cares about her patients. Great team and a great office I would recommend Parkview to anyone .

9 months ago Fantastic experience: My dentist was Sindy Ha. I had to have an emergency repair on my tooth due to a chip. She was so kind and nice and explained everything throughout the procedure. I was very happy she was able to fix my tooth on such short notice. She even showed me the after pictures after her repair. She also took steps to assess my tooth further and not just the chipped part and also informed me of her recommendations. Very happy in the overall treatment and service!

9 months ago Fantastic experience: Great dentist clinic, clean and well maintained. I met with Dr. Ha who was very knowledgable and explained everything to me in detail. I had an issue with a crown I got a few months ago that was causing pain. The clinic I got the crown and another clinic I went to for a checkup for the pain both could not address the issue but Dr. Ha at Parkview Dental was able to find out what was wrong and get it fixed.

9 months ago Negative experience: Do not trust this place. My boyfriend got an exam done and they said he had a few cavities. They told him the amount that he would have to pay. A price was discussed beforehand. Once the appointment was over, they said there was more work to be then, then they thought and made him pay an additional $500 something, an amount that was never discussed or agreed on. If he knew it was going to be so much out of pocket he would have waited till next year to fix the remaining items since his benefits would restart. It was not like his teeth were bothering him in anyway. I went in for a cleaning, my insurance covers 80% and so I cover the rest out of pocket. I paid the 20%. Months later I get an email from Parkview dental saying I owe $8. I called them and they said they noticed after that my insurance didn’t cover $8 and when I asked why this was noticed months after my appointment they didn’t have an answer for me. I never ended up paying for it, however the next time my boyfriend went in for cleaning, they charge him for the $8 I didn’t pay without getting his permission. Very shady place. Do not go here.
