I have it under TMU, and first just came in for a cleaning, but they were extremely nice to guide me through all the other procedures I could do. Every professional was very kind, patient, and helpful. Will be returning 100% with or without insurance.

They were very clear in explaining my current situation, and I did not need any treatment at this time. The clinic was also very clean. They were also very transparent about the costs before any procedure.

Negative experience: This happened before the pandemic, but I feel it’s necessary to share the traumatic experience, because this dental clinic started my fear of visiting dentists. A Chinese female dentist examined my teeth and said that my teeth must need the root canal and it looked very bad that she couldn’t believe I came to the dentist so late. She said it was surprising that I could endure the pain and my insurance is impossible to cover the fees of root canal. Since I didn’t have the money for the root canal at that time, I had to give up and save money for the root canal. After a year, I visited another root canal specialist and he said that my teeth wasn’t too bad and it didn’t necessarily require the root canal a year ago. If the dentist did proper examination, then my teeth could have been fixed with the filling and I wouldn’t have to suffer the pain and stress. It’s very irresponsible to exaggerate the situation and intimidate the patients, especially the students who are not very financially secured. I have visited several dentists over the years, and the dentist from this clinic is the WORST. It was a very unfortunate that I formed an impression of intimating dentists in general because of this dentist.

Fantastic experience: Seamless experience every time. Receptionists are fast, well-trained, and so prompt in following up. I get text and email reminders about my upcoming appointments so I never forget them. They are really on top of it and honest with their billing. Electronic submissions are a plus, and estimates are sent and received quickly. Dentists and hygienists are all sweet.

Negative experience: Controversial opinion, happened a few months ago: Be careful with what they quote you and make sure to check before receiving the service. I’m currently a student, and they charged me for a dental cleaning that they never actually did. Didn’t have a great experience with one of the dentists, so I switched to another clinic closer to my place; and honestly, it was so much better in comparison.

The hygienist explained what she was doing at each step and checked in to make sure I was okay. I appreciated how careful and thorough she was. Overall, I was happy with the care I received. Fantastic experience: This dental office is wonderful — the staff are warm, friendly, and welcoming to everyone. They make scheduling or changing appointments easy, and the doctors take the time to answer all your questions and address any concerns. I highly recommend them, especially for students.

Negative experience: This place is nice but the doctor I had was so negligent and condescending. I asked Dr Edmund Lee to make me a nightguard for my TMJD as it was prescribed to me, and instead he said I would not be able to use it because in his own experience he was not able to. I told him I could make an opinion by myself and it was my insurance money that would cover it so I needed the night guard. He said he would do it but then to my surprise, he only made me a retainer (that is a lot thinner than a night guard). Two of my friends who also have TMJ disorders went to him and they both had similar experiences of Dr Lee just says to “calm down and drink tea for anxiety,” completely disregarding the painful experiences and being incompetent as to what he actually needed to do.

Fantastic experience: This dental is very recommended if you have UHIP. They will do free check up, free x-rays and free cleanup. Setting up an appointment was very easy, and they were on time with all the appointments :) Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Do not recommend this place - in general lack of expertise and rudeness. Don’t come here for the convenience. I was a student at UofT a few years ago and I had a root canal done there. when I checked on that teeth a while later at a different dentist cuz it was still pain, the second doc said there was structure missing in the root canal done, and I indeed ended up loosing that tooth. during my several visits to college street dental for that tooth, the dentist was being dismissive, and in general did not make me feel heard. there was always a general uncomfortableness but I tried to laugh it off. But the worst was when I went back to the office due to sever pain after the root canal procedure(they mentioned to contact the office if the pain persists, and I did), the first thing they said when they saw me was - “what do you want NOW?” I’ll never forget the way they said it cuz I was caught so off guard, I don’t know what would make one think that’s the appropriate greeting to a patient suffering.

They had great amenities such a water station which was a plus as I was really thirsty that day of my appointment. Fantastic experience: Previously, I had bad experiences with dentists that caused me to have dental anxiety. However, since attending this clinic I am beginning to trust my dental team. The front staff are nice and welcoming. I have worked with different dentist’s at this location who are generally knowledgeable and skilled. However Dr Edmund Lee (Male) really stands out amongst the dentist I have met at this location. He is empathetic, listens, and educates me on my dental health and options while providing medical guidance to help me make the best decision for myself. This reduces my anxiety as it is something that I never really used to experience at the dentist previously (I usually felt like I had no choice). Now I feel more empowered to actually make the right decisions for myself and my dental health.

The service was efficient, and the fees were especially affordable for students. I would recommend it to my friends.

Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a fear of dentists, but the doctors and hygienists at this office were fantastic at making me feel comfortable. Appointments were easy to schedule and I appreciate the text reminders. While this isn’t a pediatric dentist office, I take my young kids here and they are really good at getting them to relax and enjoy their visits as well.

Negative experience: As a University of Toronto student, I recently had an appointment at this dental clinic for a checkup, X-rays, and a cleaning. Unfortunately, I was not informed when booking the appointment that the cleaning would be limited to one hour per person. When I mentioned this to the receptionist, they dismissed my concern, saying it's something patients should ask about. However, it seems unreasonable to expect patients to know there is a time limit without being informed in advance. During my visit, the dentist initially offered to clean only half of my teeth and suggested I use my upcoming insurance for the other half at a later appointment. I insisted on getting all of my teeth cleaned during this visit, but after an hour, I was told the time was up and that I’d need to come back for the rest. The dentists were kind, but even she was surprised to learn that I wasn’t aware of the time limit. As a result, only half of my teeth were cleaned, and $577 of my insurance was used for this incomplete service. Now, I’ll need to use my upcoming insurance for another appointment to finish the job. I believe that the clinic should inform patients about the one-hour limit beforehand, as this lack of communication has caused unnecessary inconvenience and additional costs.

Negative experience: The last visit I made to College Street Dental (21 August 2024) really left a very unpleasant taste in my mouth (pun not intended). The dentist (Dr. Dao Minh Le) who was assigned to do a checkup for my teeth insisted on selling me the entire X-ray package. While I understood his justification about why he recommended one, what I didn't appreciate was how it almost became a guilt-tripping session - that if I didn't choose the X-ray package after all his insistence it basically meant I couldn't help him complete the entire checkup. I guess it was maybe the tone he used - and I'm disappointed because the last time I was at this dental clinic (before yesterday) I had a very pleasant experience with the dentist. I'd recommend not going with this dentist (I heard the other dentists are actually pleasant), but otherwise I had a very pleasant experience with the receptionists during my times there.

Fantastic experience: Of all dentists I've been to, this place has the best dental cleaning. The dental hygienist was really kind (forgot her name but she was Korean) and thorough with the all the steps. She made my teeth feel so clean afterwards which I have not been able to say confidently at any other dentist office. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: Waiting time when I arrive at my scheduled hour of appointment was little to zero. The staff is very kind. It was my first time at the dentist but I felt safe every step of the way. The doctors and the staff are all very engaging and they do a really good job (I got a cleaning and a cavity filled). It's also very student friendly. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely go there again for further services.

Fantastic experience: Giving College Street Dental 11/10. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a team of friendly, helpful, and professional staff. They were incredibly approachable and made me feel comfortable right away. The facility itself was impressive, with a clean and organized layout featuring separate rooms for different procedures/multiple appointments at a time. This added a sense of privacy/comfort and professionalism to the overall experience. Setting up an appointment was easy, and when I arrived there was no wait time at all. During my first visit, I underwent a cleaning, as well as a thorough check-up and x-rays. The dental hygienist was meticulous and made sure I was informed about each step throughout the process. The dentist who performed the check-up was knowledgeable and took the time to ask me questions to be thorough as well as answer any that I had. Overall, I highly recommend College Street Dental for anyone seeking top-notch dental care, especially for students (definitely use that insurance plan here to fully reap those benefits)! I should've come here sooner :)

Fantastic experience: My visits to College Street Dental were really great! I've been there two times, and both times everything went smoothly. The appointments started on time, everyone was super nice, and the care for my teeth was excellent. As a student, I was happy to see that they made all the insurance and payment stuff easy to understand, so I felt really comfortable. Also, there were a few times when I needed to cancel and change my appointment. Getting in touch with them to do this was always easy. Plus, one time I was 20 minutes late, and they were very nice about it. They've been great every time I've gone, and I really trust them.

Fantastic experience: Was in Toronto visiting a friend and had a front tooth that had to be removed very painful. Dr Lee took me in right away and removed the tooth and suggested I get a plate the process was exceptional and the fitting is unbelievable very happy with his service and his attention to detail very reasonably priced. Fantastic experience: I visited once and was very happy with the experience. The staff was very nice and gave good service. Dr. Lee saw me and he was great. Sensitive, gentle, respectful, calming, professional, everything you need from a dentist. The price ended up being half of what they told me at the desk, because the case was simple and I didn't need any x-rays or anesthetics. Dr. Lee even offered to polish a filling in another tooth free of charge because he noticed it needed some care.

I had a new patient exam + cleaning and they worked very efficiently. The hygienist was gentle and thorough. I also had tooth extractions and Dr. Michelle Lee was strategic and careful to ensure a smooth procedure.
