Fantastic experience: I was a patient of Dr. Sinclairs ever since he started the practice in the 70s. He asked me to give Dr. Girard a chance when he took over the practice. I'm so glad I did. Dr. Girard is an excellent dentist. The staff are all friendly and professional. I know I'm getting excellent care.

Fantastic experience: I came back last Thursday, to have my dental sutures removed following a successful and effortless tooth extraction. Dr. Gerard and Elena did an excellent job. The sutures were removed seamlessly and comfortably. I also truly appreciate the reception team for being so kind, organized, and efficient, especially with appointment reminders and payment processing. Overall, my experience was fantastic. Fantastic experience: I needed some remedial dental work done this week. It wasn't an emergency, or even particularly urgent, but my schedule was tight and I wouldn't be able to schedule a regular appointment for almost two weeks. The people at Oaklands Dental understood this and squeezed me in for Dr. Girard to have a look. Rather than make me wait, Dr. Girard somehow managed to find the time to complete the repair. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond the call of duty, doing so with graciousness and care. I left the office pretty grateful for how well they looked after me. Definitely not something I take for granted. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting this practice for about 40 years, Even before Dr Gerard's arrival and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The dentistry is of the highest quality. Dr Gerard is always aware of how the patient is feeling during a procedure. The morale of everyone who works there is high. They are punctual with appointments. I especially appreciate the willingness to bill insurance companies directly and not require that the patient pay and recover payment on their own. Tony Keble

I didnt feel a thing during the filling and next day im feeling better than i did before. Even the teeth cleaning appointment before that was a breeze so gentle and professional. Could not recommend them more. Answered every question I could think of. Its just easy, relaxing and simple to see them and let them help you have an amazing smile.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. I started at Oaklands as a ‘absolutely terrified’ patient - back when I was 20 something I had a few negative experiences at the dentist office. And it got stuck on my head. So I didn’t go for two decades. Didn’t have too many problems.. but then I needed some work done and I could not get myself to go without some meds. May seem wussy, but it is the only area of my life that is like that.. anyway fast forward to 2017 I decided to try Oaklands. And they have been super supportive and patient. And now I have almost zero negative feelings about dentist visits and I’m back to get cleanings regularly. So thanks to the great staff there!

Fantastic experience: The office is always cheerful and efficient. The dental hygienists are careful and friendly. They mirror Dr. Girard, who is himself gregarious and accessible. Always a good experience. Thursday August 28, 2025: I had to have a lingual wire in the back of my lower teeth re-cemented. This was my first experience with Dr. Lee, in lieu of Dr. Girard, who was not in the office at the time. Dr. Lee was confident and fast, while engaging in upbeat conversation. I was in and out and a lot less time with a lot less expense than I anticipated. A good experience!

Fantastic experience: This dental office deserves much appreciation for the efficient and kind way they take care of of business while keeping their clients on track and well cared for. I always refer anyone who needs a family dentist to Dr.Franco and co. For someone with sensitivity to cleaning the hygienists are always patient and caring-cannot recommend them enough! Invisalign treatment: Yesterday I was fitted with my first invisalign tray and have a training/coaching session to learn how to take care of them and how to do a self scan using an app on my phone. Although I knew it was a process over time to get the desired results, I didn’t know how arduous it would be to prep my teeth and fit the tray into my mouth. Elena was patient and kind as she was helping me and with Dr.Girard managed to get them in place. My lip was left swollen and mouth was tender but I’m catching on how to remove and replace the tray in order to clean my teeth. I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be so hard to accomplish but I was cared for well and have high hopes all will turn out well in the end. I expect to be eating softer foods over the next few weeks. Probably not everyone has the same experience as me. I thank Oaklands Dental in general for their professional care and caring attitude.

Negative experience: This isn't a dentists office, this is an Invisalign sales centre. The dentist found things that no other dentist has ever mentioned, performed scans which were not covered by insurance without informing me first, had inappropriate opinions about medication I've been prescribed and spent the majority of the appointment trying to hard sell me on Invisalign. I'm in sales so I let him keep going, out of my own morbid curiosity... I'll give him a 2/5 as a salesman, 0/5 as a dentist. The dental assistant who did all of the actual work was great, I'm sorry she has to work in that predatory environment.

Fantastic experience: Been a patient at Oaklands dental and Dr. Girard for a number of years now. The staff are very friendly and skilled. Dr. Girard is a very good dentist not only skill wise, but is very personable, honest and down to earth with his practice. Never once has he tried to sell or push a procedure unless it’s legitimately needed. They even have a Nintendo in the waiting room! Great place to get your chops looked after. 5 stars for sure.

I’ve had to have many dental treatments done they always make it so easy so get the treatments I need. Fantastic experience: I was facing an emergency implant problem, and Dr. Girard made time for me a few hours after contacting his office. His assistant was pleasant and efficient in preparing me for a quick surgery. Dr. Girard did an amazing job removing the loose implant, clearing the damaged bone, treating the infection, and stitching up my gum. He was very thoughtful and supportive. After removing my stitches a week later, he gave me good advice moving forward. I highly recommend Dr. Girard, and compliment his assistant and friendly office staff.

Until now, my visits with Dr Girard have only been for check ups. Without going into detail, l would like to say that I was pleasantly amazed when Dr Girard recently found an ingenious and creative solution to a dental problem of mine. Negative experience: This was 5 stars but I have to lower it at this point..... and lower it again after that reply. Good work but Doctor Gerard isn't honest. I'm not a fan of getting told he's fixing my tooth, then later being told that he didn't actually fix it, just did a cosmetic patch job (which I specifically said I wasn't interested in), and now he's going to actually fix the tooth. The weak patch job that needs more work does look fine so if you don't care about paying for services you don't want then no worries. If location is your big factor, ask for Doctor Lee. She might be better. Reply: you explained it all quite clearly already. You offered me 2 ways to fix the tooth, I went with the cheaper one, you did the work, got paid, then you insisted your work was weak and, although I'm having no issues with the tooth, you needed to fix it again. Well either you charged me a lot of money for a bad job and I should avoid you or you did a good job but are telling me I need work done that I don't need and I should avoid you. Congratulations on talking yourself out of a client (at least 4 appointments a year) and down to a 1 star review.

Negative experience: I had a very poor experience at this dental office last year in April, specifically with Dr.Girard. When I first went for my examination and cleaning, I told them I would not like a specific procedure done because my insurance didn’t cover it. Dr. Girard knew this and he still said he was going to go ahead with it and that “we should do it” therefore I felt obligated too and unfortunately I didn’t speak up about it. Secondly I was told that I had more than 8 cavities that needed fillings for, I thought that was an unusual high number of cavities. I felt uncomfortable going back there so I didn’t. Fast forward to today, months later I go to a new dentist (haven’t seen one seen since Dr.Girard) and I was told that I have three cavities that need to be filled. I believe Dr, Girard is taking advantage of his patients and their money as I am so disgusted from my experience there.

Negative experience: My experience with Dr. Girard’s clinic was extremely disappointing. I came in for a routine exam and cleaning and was told I had two cavities. This was surprising, as I have a rigorous oral care routine, and my last check-up (just a year prior) showed no issues and I was praised for the care I take. When Dr. Girard insisted I needed these cavities treated, I declined, as I was skeptical of the diagnosis. The cleaning went fine, and the reception staff were very kind. A month later, I returned to get a form filled out, and Dr. Girard again pushed the need for these fillings, suggesting they were an urgent health concern. Despite explaining that I had another appointment shortly, he brought me into a private room and shut the door, questioning me about my comfort with procedures and needles, implying I was just too afraid. He continued to insist that these “cavities” required immediate treatment and assured me it would only take 20 minutes. After feeling pressured and convinced this was essential for my health, I reluctantly agreed. The result was uncomfortable; the fillings now have rough edges that constantly irritate my tongue. After this, I felt uneasy and decided to seek a second opinion from my previous dentist, who confirmed I had no signs of cavities and did not require any fillings previously. I felt misled and that Dr. Girard pushed for unnecessary treatment solely for billing purposes. To add to this, Dr. Girard’s team conducted a full-mouth scan for Invisalign without my interest and tried to upsell it at both visits. Each patient in the waiting room was also being pushed on Invisalign, which felt like a high-pressure sales tactic rather than genuine care. Overall, I would not recommend Dr. Girard’s clinic due to the pressure I felt to undergo unnecessary procedures, leaving me questioning the integrity of the practice.

The dentist was great; he was efficient and also explained everything that he was doing or saw on the scans. The dental hygienist was wonderful. Positive experience: I’ve updated this review after a few more visits 2022-24. Pros: I think Dr. Girard is a good dentist. He has noticed something that my previous dentist missed and provided information about the short- and long-term pros/cons of different options. I like that the office has multiple air filters running throughout the office, which help to clean the air from airborne diseases. Cons: On several occasions, Dr. Girard has spoken sharply / snapped at the staff member assisting him during my visit (e.g., an item was in low supply on the tray table). The same thing has happened to my partner. We also find the frequent emails a little off-putting (e.g., asking for a review after each visit).

Fantastic experience: Great staff! Nice, bright, clean office. Very patient when it comes to clarifying procedures to me. Would highly recommend this dental office to any one looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: I lived in another area of town and Dr. Girard had joined the practice that I was a patient at. He was kind and very informative. After awhile he had left so I googled him trying to find him. Lucky for me he had started his own practice just 5 minutes from my work. I have continued to see him as he is very knowledgable and does not pressure me . He advises what work needs to be done and always shows with xrays or a picture and leaves it up to me when I want to have the work done. His staff are wonderful and caring. Since the pandemic Dr. Girard has put many safety protocols in place. I feel very safe going to the clinic.

Fantastic experience: Scheduling wise Oaklands Dental is really easy to work with, getting appointments seems to be no problem, and they're very easy to work with when it comes to rescheduling appointments. The hygienists I've dealt with have all been kind and do a great job. Dr.Girard is super friendly and has made the time to chat with me every time I've been by. I've had a great experience so far. Oaklands Dental is leagues above any dentist I've been to in the past.
