Negative experience: Unfortunately I cannot recommend this dentist and would advise others to look elsewhere. I needed a mouth guard for sleeping and was not provided with the type of mouth guard I wanted. The dentist did not consult me properly about what I wanted and when I picked it up I was completely surprised, but I figured I would still use it since this is what was provided. It was too tight and didn’t fit correctly. After months of using it I started to get frequent headaches, so I went back to get the issue addressed. I was told that there was no way that mouth guard would cause headaches and the dentist was quite rude about it and clearly thought I was making this up. He “adjusted” the mouth guard, but it didn’t help. After a few weeks of not wearing the mouth guard my headaches went away and haven’t returned since I stopped using that mouth guard. Now I’m stuck with a mouth guard that doesn’t fit and I’m out hundreds of dollars for it. Cleanings have been fine here, but if you need anything more than a cleaning, expect issues.

Fantastic experience: Every visit that I've had to Vic West Dentistry has been a great experience! I usually walk away with some specific ideas that will help to keep my oral health the best it can be. The Hygienists are very careful and thorough. The front desk staff always have a a pleasant welcoming smile and are incredibly efficient. And I love that if you're on a waitlist, they have a system that keeps sending openings until you get an appointment. And I love that they direct bill my insurance company.... very important because it saves a tonne of time!

Fantastic experience: Great Dental Clinic. My kids (5 and 6) had a great experience. The dental hygienist explained everything step by step and they were not anxious with that. Dentists were also very pacient. I really love the attention. Dr. Gumbmann is very patient with kids (and with adults as well, as sometimes I got gag reflex and I need to stop the session before continuing). A great place for general family dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I broke some fillings right before the long weekend. Dr.Gumbmann was able to fit me in and placed some temporary fillings so that I am able to chew. Very thoughtful, I really appreciate the quick and easy work from him and the helpful staff! Dr.Tranter did my permanent fillings and they are the best fillings I have ever had. I have quite sensitive teeth and dont always freeze well. He did not make a big deal out of it and was very professional. The fillings feel fantastic. In the past, fillings left my teeth sensitive or needing adjustment. I did not need either with Dr. Tranters work. I flew to Hawaii the next day and had no issues, and I haven't had any since. Highly recommend both Drs here

Dr. Tranter always takes the time to explain treatment options clearly. Positive experience: Hello. Honestly, it wasn't a good experience. From the moment we arrived, the receptionist was overly serious. The patient is a child!!! Then, the doctor's assistant treated my son like an adult, lacking patience and making no effort to make him feel comfortable. Obviously, my son didn't want to be seen. When the doctor arrived, he saw a restless child and obviously recommended that he be seen at another clinic. Last time, another assistant saw my child, and he was very calm and let them clean him up. It's not the child's fault, but the way they treat him. The doctor is excellent, and the assistant who saw him last time is the best. She should train the other assistants on how to work with children. She's the best!

Fantastic experience: I was lucky to get an appointment on short notice for my chipped front tooth today. My lab assistant was very professional and friendly, gave me lots of information about how repairs are made. The dentist was very good, no messing around. The whole job took maybe 30 minutes and looks fantastic: can't tell I had a big chip out of my tooth at all.

Fantastic experience: Dentistry is expensive, no doubt. But Bruce and Marcus provide a pain free experience with all the new equipment that makes the experience rather enjoyable. Great crew from the front reception all the way to the peeps in the back who gets the job done. Well oiled machine. They do accept payments upon request if you can't pay the full amount. Get your regular checkups/cleanings and it won't be so expensive next appointment

Fantastic experience: Sensitive teeth people! I had such a great experience with Dr. Tranter. I had to get some work done and expressed that I have very sensitive teeth. Dr. Tranter walked me through everything, gave me helpful tips during the procedure and his assistant was also very compassionate. I did not feel anything! I was quite numb for a few hours after but I'd rather that than be in pain during the procedure!

Fantastic experience: Major work done at this place! Root canal crown and implant crown both had issues coming from the lab. Dr. Gumbmann did the root canal and the root canal permanent crown cracked when fitted, a super rare occurrence. They took a new impression, ordered a new crown, and put it in two weeks later, all at no extra cost to me. Dr. Tranter 3D scanned my teeth to create an implant crown, and when the implant crown color was a bit off at the fitting, sent it back to the lab to get it right. Two weeks later, fitted me again with excellent results. Both of these dentists are not willing to settle for second best. Glad to be able to chew properly again! Thanks, guys!

When I returned to Victoria, I went to see Dr. Bruce Tranter at Vic West Dentistry—and I’m so glad I did. He quickly removed the poorly fitted crown, did a digital scan of my mouth, and made me a brand-new crown that fits, feels, and looks amazing. The entire experience was efficient, professional, and smooth. All of the staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great! Unlike some dentists, their office is fragrance free (no diffusers, Plugins or Febreeze cans) and has air filters. This is great for having good air quality and accessibility for people with allergies and lung issues, migraines etc. I never get headaches or asthma issues here. Parking is also easy to find. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They all do a great job! The clinic also has ultrasonic scaling and other modern equipment to minimize discomfort. I look forward to getting my teeth cleaned here. Highly recommend!
