Negative experience: Zero stars for being the worst neighbour ever. Leaf blowers going weekly at 6:45 am in pitch dark. Waking up all the residents in nearby buildings. Seems they don’t care as we have told the woman at the front desk. Can’t imagine if they would care much about your teeth if they don’t care about their neighbors By law is 9:00 am . Fines are coming !!! Definitely would not use their services. A total lack of respect for the neighbourhood.

Negative experience: Very poor technique… My partner is now suffering sensitive teeth after being treated the dental cavity by Dr. Sue Stakiw. He cannot even floss the teeth. The problem did not exist before he received the treatment. If you have to go to this clinic, avoid this Dr. Sue Stakiw….

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. I had my dental bondings redone three separate times here because they were never done correctly. The front office staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, and to make things worse, they tried to claim my coverage wasn’t up to date—even though I’m covered through my Status card. After switching to another dental office, I haven’t had a single issue. Save yourself the frustration—I do not recommend this place.

Negative experience: Look, individually, they’re all very pleasant people. The dental hygienists were friendly and knowledgeable, and the receptionists, polite and courteous. So instead of pointing fingers, I would like to simply detail my experience with the clinic here. I went in for a general checkup and cleaning, which they spread out to two appointments. On the first day, the hygienist clicked a few pictures of my teeth, and took some X rays, all at their own discretion, in order to prepare for the next day. The next day, a different but equally lovely hygienist performed a deep clean on about half my mouth- THEN I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $250 TO HAVE THE OTHER HALF CLEANED My insurance, the Canadian Dental Plan, only covered the first half of my jaw, turns out. For the other half, I’d have to pay out of pocket. Now, sadly I wasn’t prepared to shell out $250 on the spot, so I had to decline their offer. I write this review with the left half of my mouth thoroughly deep cleaned, and the right half left as it is. It’s funny, to be honest. But nevertheless, I believe I’d have liked to have been informed prior to the start of the procedure that it would be dropped mid-way unless I paid more. I’ve since received emails from Academy Dental, trying to convince me that I have yet some more “outstanding balances” from the two aforementioned appointments. Let’s see how much I end up actually paying (despite insurance) for half a set of clean teeth. Meanwhile, here is my review.

I appreciate her management style as related to the ebb and flow of those of us who visit. Dr. Stakiw, Anna and Pat the dental assistants and Mina the hygienist are kind, competent and good teachers for those of us who benefit from new ideas and new ways of thinking about the art of dentistry.

I experienced zero judgment, just a swift plan to get my mouth in good shape and cleanings and procedures were all way less uncomfortable than I imagined. Fantastic experience: Dr. Rosy McCrodan and team simply rock. Today I had a challenging filling location completed in 15 minutes as efficiently and professionally as an F1 pit crew. They always go the extra mile to make sure you're comfortable and well informed. I also had a challenging implant that was addressed by Dr. Rosi McCrodan with good humour and skill...a winning combo. Front desk staff are cheerful and the premises are slick.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this same office since the 80’s and it’s changed a lot since then but has always been and excellent experience. Not only great hygienists and dentists but they also help educate you on proper oral care. So many little tips here and there that add up to help improve your oral health in addition to proper professional care. The staff is so great to deal with and just gets stuff done, properly and professionally.

Fantastic experience: My dentist retired and I needed a new dentist, I decided to go to Academy Dental. I was in need of some detailed work. I was a little apprehensive because changing dentists is not easy for me, but fortunately, I happened upon a great dentist at Academy Dental. Dr. Hassani was wonderful, finally I found some one who was very thorough, listened to me and took the time to explain what I needed to have done. He is very gentle, and knowledgeable. He explains everything he is going to do. I also had a cleaning done, and the hygienist was wonderful. The office personnel are great...from the time I entered the clinic and was greeted by the friendly staff, through to the full appointment it was a great experience.

Probably the most gentle and comfortable cleaning I have ever had. Based on my first experience, I would highly recommend this dental office. I had a wonderful experience at Academy Dental. Reception staff were very kind and able to accommodate me on short notice, making the extra effort to contact me when an appointment opened up due to a cancellation. Dr. Hassan was also very efficient, professional and compassionate. After having already tried several other dentists who were unable to address my issue, Dr. Hassan was able to quickly identify what was causing me pain and take care of it. I had to have a wisdom tooth removed - they booked me in right away, gave me an accurate cost estimate and the extraction itself was quick, painless and extremely well done. I have had many uncomfortable experiences with dentists in the past, and found Academy Dental to provide caring and excellent care. Thank you to all of the staff.

One of the things I appreciate most is his integrity. Unlike some dentists who take on procedures outside their expertise just for the money, Dr. Hassani is different. He always prioritizes his patients’ well-being. For example, when my partner needed a procedure, he could have done it himself, but instead, he referred us to a specialist to ensure the best care. Fantastic experience: I needed to get a new dentist in Victoria, BC who accepted the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), and, based on Google Reviews, I decided to try Dr. Rosy McCrodan at Academy Dental. I was not disappointed. Dr. McCrodan provided excellent service in every way. Her examination was very thorough, and she provided answers to all of my questions in a knowledgeable and helpful manner. I would highly recommend her. I also had a dental hygiene appointment at Academy Dental, and while I imagine that all of the hygentists there are very good, my appointment was with Amber who was excellent. She was meticulous, careful and also was very willing to answer any questions that I had. I should not forget the office staff who also deserve to be mentioned. They were all very pleasant, courteous and helpful. All in all, I would highly recommend Academy Dental and the services they provide.

Fantastic experience: Had my first exam with Dr McCrodan today and was very pleased! She is kind and understanding, and alleviated my embarrassment at having delayed dental care for quite a long time. While I am booked for cleaning another day, she took the time to do some scaling on a permanent retainer that was difficult to care for, and it feels 1000% better. I also want to add that I work for a dental specialist and patients we see from Academy Dental always have great things to say about the office. The office atmosphere is cozy and the staff are super friendly. You are in good hands here!

Negative experience: I have been a patient at this dental clinic for several years, mainly because Dr. Hassani is an exceptional dentist. His expertise, professionalism, and care are unparalleled, and he is truly the best in the field. However, the scheduling system and some of the reception staff have been a constant source of frustration. One of the receptionists, who manages Dr. Hassani’s appointments, has consistently been rude to both me and my partner. The scheduling process itself is also poorly managed: appointments are booked out three months in advance, which is inconvenient but something I could accept. What I find unacceptable is that these appointments are frequently canceled at the last minute, and we are then pushed back for another three months without any consideration for our schedules. Despite booking numerous appointments over the years, this pattern of cancellations and rescheduling without accommodating the patient’s needs has been incredibly frustrating. The reception staff's dismissive attitude only adds to the problem and leaves me feeling undervalued as a patient. The only reason I continue at this clinic is because of Dr. Hassani's outstanding work. If it weren’t for him, I would have left a long time ago. I hope the management takes steps to improve their scheduling system and address the behavior of certain staff members. Patients deserve better.

Even thou going to the dentist and getting your teeth clean hasn’t been a very easy service that you want to do. But every time has been very pleasant to have my teeth attended to. Fantastic experience: I had needed a tooth extracted and the infection drained! Not what you look forward to, but Academy Dental brings in an oral surgeon to do this procedure. I expected at minimum this appointment would take an hour, but I was very surprised by the gentle manner and professionalism shown in what took only approx. 20 mins. I was given instructions of what to do to help the healing process, and happily left the beautiful Victorian building - not exactly smiling but knowing the surgery was perfectly executed! Kudos to this dental office and its staff.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at Academy Dental for 40 years. I first went there as a pre-teen when I started getting my orthodontic work done. Their customer service and dental work has always been outstanding. Even though some of the long term (30+ years) staff have now left, I am enjoying to get to know the newer faces and everyone is still very warm and welcoming. My original dentist/owner retired several years ago, but the two newer dentists I now work with are second to none. My last hygienist cleaned my teeth twice a year for 30 years until her recent retirement. I was sad to see her go, but was pleasantly surprised to make a connection with my new hygienist right away. Often being greeted by name the moment I walked in the door, I always felt like I was part of the family when entering the office.
