Negative experience: The staff are pleasant but information about treatment was not adequately explained and unfortunately now my benefits have been maxed out without the actual issue I came in for being treated which now I will not be able to afford to have repaired for at least a year.

Fantastic experience: I visited this dental office for the first time yesterday for a consultation and had a great experience. The entire team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. What stood out most was their honesty and transparency. They took the time to listen to my concerns, answered all of my questions, and never made me feel rushed. I really appreciated the helpful advice they provided. I’m very happy I found them and will definitely be returning and making them my regular dental office. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Updated February 2026: Tegan is the best! I’ll continue to request this hygienist going forward. She’s gentle and efficient and kind. A true asset. August 2025: The appointment ran on time so that’s an improvement! My previous two visits started very late but I checked in with them before my appointment start time this time. The cleaning was excellent and my gums paid the price. I wish there was more suction :/ I should have declined the dental loot bag at the end…I really don’t need all that extra plastic considering I mentioned twice I use an electrical toothbrush and said I only wanted the floss and yet it was still pushed on me. The service is very good, check their timing before you go in and you will be satisfied.

Fantastic experience: I came in for a toothache I have. Dr. Sarkar found something to take immediate action on and make sure I'm copasectic. By having a hospital Dr. test for certain things before she proceeds with addressing the aching tooth. I was prescribed pain killers in the meantime; I was in excrutiating pain. She's very thorough.

Fantastic experience: This will be my second implant. Have to say that this time with Dr. Tam it is going much faster, easier and painless. Dr. Tam is extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient.

Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience with the Georgian Dental Clinic in Barrie, Ontario. Since becoming a patient of Dr. A. Tan.. I never encountered any issues with the assistants or front Desk staff. Everyone is professional and provides excellent services.

Negative experience: Alexandra carriero we have same experience from this clinic my husband went for an extract next day he found they dig a hole in his gum while taking the x ray and cleaning procedures we reached out and we spoke with them they don’t want to admit this is made by them this is so bad unprofessional how we can trust a dentist if they messing damaging and ruining our teeth instead of fixing it my poor husband still having pain we too never reach out this clinic again.

Negative experience: It’s hard for me to wait while my siblings get their teeth done. I had to wait over an hour in the waiting room and the lights and noises bother me. It’s hard enough getting me to go to the dentist. My mom asked for all the kids to get done at the same time.

Positive experience: I’ve heard very mixed reviews from Georgian dental from all over but I’ve been going here for years and they made the exception for me to get some dental work done as it’s close to the holidays and money is tight all over so I’d give this a 4/5 stars. Fantastic experience: I had a big abscess on my gum due to a split in a crowned tooth where bacteria infected it. So it had to be removed, and an implant had to be installed to replace it. Thanks to Dr Tam, it was a completely painless experience. He was so professional and patient throughout the who procedure. Amazing!

Fantastic experience: I recently decided to visit Georgian dental after recommendations from my son who along with my daughter both share beautiful smiles compliments of Dr. Megan!!!!! I couldn’t be more pleased with my own personal visits. From the moment I entered the clinic, the staff were welcoming, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. The clinic itself is spotless and beautifully kept in its original majestic structure. It runs very efficiently and I never wait long for my appointment. Dr.Megan is very personable and takes the time to explain every step of the procedure. She is very patient in answering all my questions, and makes sure I am comfortable throughout the visit. Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a great experience at this clinic. Very thorough and professional. They listen to you and help work with you to achieve your smile goals. The only drawback is that the parking can be a bit challenging when they are busy. If the lot is full, you need to park on a side street. Because the service is so great, I can work with the parking although it’s a bit of an inconvenience.

That being said, the team was both very professional and personable. I’m so glad I came across them and already feel comfortable after my first visit. A very impressive and friendly team.

Negative experience: I went in for a filling, and got an infection a few days later. I called and spoke to the receptionist about it and she spoke rudely and was not accommodating at all. She was giving attitude and said the earliest I would be able to see the doctor is next Wednesday. She was so rude and I’ll never be back again. Whatever your name is how can you have a job to take care of costumers yet be so rude? Shame on you rude lady. Maybe working in a jail would be better fitting.

Fantastic experience: Have had a positive experience removing my amalgam fillings. They have provided a safe removal with all the precautions. Dr.Megan was very informative, answered all my questions and honestly her work felt like a ballerina in my mouth - very gentle and attentive. They have offered different prompts to ease the dental anxiety by offering music, movie and a squish ball.

Fantastic experience: I’ve lived in Barrie since 1997 and have always gone to dental offices close to home in the south end. Honestly, I was never happy with any of them. There was constant turnover with the dentists, and I never felt truly comfortable or satisfied with the care I received. I had pretty much accepted that this was just the norm in Barrie - until a friend, Brittney Sim, recommended Georgian Dental. I've been going to Georgian Dental for the past three years now, and I can confidently say I’m obsessed. The difference is night and day. The clinic itself is beautiful, modern, and welcoming, and the level of care is top-notch. Dr. Meghan is an absolute perfectionist in the best way possible. She did composite veneers on all of my upper front teeth with minimal invasiveness, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They’re flawless - natural in color, shape, and size - not overly white, just the perfect balance. I’ve already had four people ask for her name so they can book consultations of their own! Every hygienist I’ve seen has been friendly, gentle, and professional. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the entire team. Thank you to everyone at Georgian Dental for making dental care something I now genuinely look forward to.

Fantastic experience: Had to go for emergency extraction today...my anxiety is so bad at the dentist...it's been 10 plus years since I've been able to even sit in the chair with out gas...today Dr Ali was able to give the freezing and that's usually the worst part and sets me off...I cried out of fear but barley felt the needle....it took less than 10 mins and was done. I cried in relief and was shocked.

Fantastic experience: I had a recent cleaning at Georgian Dental with hygienist Dana. She was very professional and informative and I appreciated her wisdom on issues like gum recession and keeping my teeth clean. Afterwards I had consultations with Sirlene and Ricardo about my dentures. Again, super informative and helpful. I highly recommend Georgian Dental, and especially Dana and Ricardo!

Negative experience: I can not give nostars it will not allow me to. I do not know why you keep emailing me to come back to your dentist office your dentist removed all my teeth for dentures, and after getting the dentures I was told I never should have had all my teeth removed because a majority of them where perfectly healthy, now with no teeth I have have lost any enjoyment of some food. I was basically tortured by having only a few teeth every week for almost 2 months with a mouth full of blood, not being able to eat solid food for upwards of 3 months. Then after Told by denturist who made my dentures said "why did he pull healthy teeth, we could have made you partials instead of full dentures. Since having my teeth out I can no longer eat a lot of foods I enjoyed. I talked to other patients and was told the same thing was done to them healthy teeth pulled just because each tooth he pulled he could claim with Ontario works vs fixing teeth. I am thinking of seeing legal advice because I feel the dentist who handled my case only cared about money he would make the dentist office vs my health and well being. You are supposed to trust doctors and dentists and what they do. But I feel who handled my dental issues he did not have my best option he simply said from the beginning he can not do anything with my teeth and total removal is needed and the pain I would have was nessesary because no other options are available

Fantastic experience: Been going here forever and transferred from Orillia office because I trust Dr.Tan. This visit was simple fillings with Dr. Megan (who's fantastic), and Genda. I think Glenda was a bit disorganized that day, but she was pleasant and helpful. Also asked about implants and had Dr. Ali drop in. Everyone goes out of their way to give you the best information for choices on your teeth, and although I was sore the next day from fillings, they always do their best to keep me comfortable throughout service. I used to cry before going to the dentist, but now I know what to expect and their bedside manner makes visits easy.

Fantastic experience: Incredible staff and facility. Had made an appointment and they rushed me in for my broken wisdom tooth and even gave me an extended appointment slot. Managed to not only deal with the broken wisdom tooth but also had more then enough time to also remove the other wisdom tooth AND still had tons of time left over. Great place definitely recommend

Negative experience: They don’t answer calls & make fraudulent charges to insurance! If you try to inquire about the charges they submit, they screen calls for 3 hours before close and say “our computers are off” when you finally do get through. Nice service!

Negative experience: I recently visited Georgian Dental for a cleaning and cavity filling, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. After numbing my mouth, I was left waiting for over an hour before the dentist returned, which was frustrating and made the experience unnecessarily prolonged. When they finally began the filling process, they didn’t have the correct size dental matrix band. They tried to make do with an ill-fitting one, which ended up breaking twice—once falling to the back of my mouth and the other time bouncing off the floor. This not only felt unprofessional but also made me question their preparedness and attention to detail. To make matters worse, the result of the filling has left me with an uneven bite—half of my mouth now feels higher than the other side when I bite down. This has been uncomfortable and disappointing, as I now have to consider seeking additional treatment to fix this issue. Overall, my experience was unprofessional and frustrating, and I cannot recommend Georgian Dental based on this visit.

Fantastic experience: Michael McAuley My first visit was a nice experience. Very soothing environment in the office design. Staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Although I an a very anxious patient Maureen the hygienist was calming and personable. Dr. Jodery introduced himself and showed appreciation for choosing this practice. Although I was disappointed that some work needs to be done he was very soft spoken and detailed about what needs to be done and why so that I could make a the decisions. He emulated a feeling of trust so will return for the work he recommended

Fantastic experience: Fast and efficient. I have a dreaded fear of dentists but the staff here are warm and friendly and make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Definitely returning.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with my friend. Avoid this place! It seems like they have some kind of scam going on—they don’t perform the treatment properly, leaving part of the tooth in the root, then do multiple X-rays to “locate” it. Afterward, they refer patients to a specialist, where you end up paying again. Not recommended!

Negative experience: Such a bad experience! I went there for a wisdom tooth extraction, they never told me about any complication. Dr Megan was the one who was doing the extraction. While doing the extraction, i figured something was wrong as they were constantly poking around even though the tooth was taken out. Then they told me that a tiny piece was left behind and that they need to find it out, for which they did an X-Ray, still couldn’t locate it. Then they took me for a full mouth X-Ray, told me that they passed it on to a surgeon as they need his opinion if he wanted to see me. Meanwhile they again started finding the left behind fragment, poking continued for almost 2 more hours. Post which i was told that they were still waiting for surgeon’s response, and that this left behind piece might or might not cause problems. They put stitches over the site and next day, i had to get a surgery done under general anaesthesia to get that piece removed. Not only costed me so much, but left a trauma behind. Not good, didn’t expect such an experience.

Negative experience: BEWARE! My fiance came here for a root canal, he had used Georgian Dental years ago so he trusted them. Not only did they continually call him to try and reschedule his appointment to an earlier date,(which he could not do because he had requested the time off from work for the day THEY had scheduled his root canal) but on the day, they completely botched his root canal and "BROKE A METAL FILE OFF IN THE ROOT/CANAL OF HIS TOOTH"!!! Because they cannot repair this disaster, he was referred to a specialist of which we will have to pay out-of-pocket to have the file peice removed. We will absolutely be finding a new dentist and finding our own specialist as we do not trust Georgian Dental's referral after today. Extremely disappointed in this practice and the number of RECENT negative reviews.

Fantastic experience: This is definitely the dental office to go to! Everyone is very kind and seemed happy to be working there which made for a very welcoming environment. My cleaning, x-rays, and exam all went smoothly.

Negative experience: Dr. Ali Tehrani extracted my husband wisdom teeth which resulted in a tooth abscess and specialist follow up only to find out he left parts of the bone behind after telling us post x-ray he did the two hours procedure with no complications (was told simple 30mins procedure). No accountability at all. complete hubris.

Negative experience: To say they don’t value you or your time is an understatement. I have had 3 consecutive appointments cancelled at the absolute last minute. Did not keep an appointment once in over 5 months of scheduling. Only thing worse than the cancellations is the parking. And beware the fees: during Covid they were passing on charges for PPE to the clients. I only caught it because my provider would not cover it. Shady practise. Steer clear: lots of dentists in Barrie.

Negative experience: Total Rip off. Expect unexpected charges. I went in for a Root Canal Extraction. They told it it would be 850 for extraction + bone graft. Afterwards they charged me 1500$ and I didn’t even get the bone graft. So if I did get the bone graft they would have charged me 2500$ instead of the 850$ they said it would cost.

Negative experience: I left the place 2 HOURS LATER, they didn't even put my brackets on properly and when I left it immediately broke. Then I found out 2 OTHER BRACKETS BROKE, so the "1 hour appointment" turned into a 3 hour appointment. The only good thing was the music

Negative experience: I went with my 16 years old autistic son, he had a health smile coverage. I called before booking the appointment and inquired if you accept Healthy Smile insurance card and they confirmed. It was routine tooth cleaning and xray check. I was surprised when the receptionist asked for 500$, but i paid it after she confirmed that Healthy Smile will return the amount. I called Healthy Smile and they said that I shouldn’t be paying because they have covered and paid this amount. I decided to take him to another clinic and they didn’t charge me anything, all was covered by Healthy Smile. It’s not right to rob people blind like that and I wonder who took my money.

Negative experience: I visited Georgian Dental several times in late 2023 and got some dental work done totalling around $1800. The first visit was alright. The staff are friendly enough. I chose a holistic dentist (Dr Tam) because I wanted some mercury fillings removed and fillings done. The work was done. However, I had to return because my bite was not even and that's when my experience went downhill. First, Dr Tam was over 30 minutes late. When I arrive at my appointment on time I expect the Dr to also show up on time. I sat in the dentists chair for over 30 minutes. Finally Dr Tam shows up. Either he didn't realize I had been waiting 30 minutes or just doesn't care. No apology or explanation was given why he was late. I value my time and felt disrespected that Georgian Dental was so careless in this regard. Bite was fixed. I left. After 6-8 weeks, I realized one of the fillings was giving me constant pain to the point that I couldn't sleep for multiple nights. I brought this up to the office. They told me to come back in and see another dentist to 'check things out'. I saw Dr Ali this time. Nice enough guy, seemed really exhausted. He said the pain should go away after 8 weeks. I left. The pain didn't go away. Now I was in my 9th or 10th week and still a pain after paying over $1300 to Georgian dental. It's a long commute for me to have to come in every time. Again, not very respectful of patients' time. Did I also mention the first time I made an appointment the dentist office did not mark it down? so I took a day off work only to find out they hadn't made the appointment. Emails are not returned/answered and if they are they're answered late. I've dealt with Katerina & Sirlene who were supposed to find a time slot to have me come back in but that hasn't transpired. No one has followed up with me. I had my dental work done in November of 2023. Now it's Almost April 2024. Needless to say I can't and won't recommend this dental clinic or Dr Tam to anyone including my family & friends. The clinic seems to try and fit as many appointments in as possible, and money seems to be the main that matters to this clinic. The Dentists look tired and the work is subpar. I feel for what I paid the value customer service and patient chair side manners is just not there. They're quick to take your money but that's about it. I suggest looking elsewhere and finding another dentist office that cares about its patients and provides betters service. There are others in the area. Shop around so you don't have to experience what I experienced. One of the worst experiences I've had at a dentists office in any country.

Fantastic experience: Great dental office! Such a beautiful office in an old Victorian home. Always efficient service. I have had the pleasure of meeting a couple different hygienists and each have been amazing with cleanings and with making you feel comfortable and knowledgeable about the work they are doing. Natalie at the front desk is absolutely wonderful and personable, always remembering the small details when we chat. I have had nothing but great experiences here! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: The most Traumatic experience I’ve ever had in health care setting as a patient. I Had 3 of my wisdom teeth removed today by Dr.Ali and his assistant Jenna. While I was on the chair under the influence of laughing gas feeling vulnerable and nervous, Dr.Ali and his assistant betting on how fast he can remove my wisdom teeth so his assistant can buy him a free lunch in front of me. “130 ? 115?” Which means 1 minute 30 seconds or 1 minute 15 seconds. I heard everything and dr.Ali even said to me “if you are wondering what we were talking about, we are guessing how long it is going to take me to remove your wisdom teeth” I cried and tried to hold it as much as I can. I was even thinking to just get up and leave but I can’t because of the laughing gas. How insensitive are you talking in front of your patient like that ? That was not a game for me. I was feeling so vulnerable and I trusted you to take good care of me and you made this as a game. I was scared and nervous and you were aware of that from the beginning. I will never came back again.I hope you don’t treat other patients like that because that’s just sad.

Fantastic experience: Very good dental office, staff are great! I’ve had dental work done here in the past, this was just check up and cleaning, very thorough but gentle, nice!

Fantastic experience: The best Dental care I’ve ever received. There is really nothing else to say. The Hygienists, Receptionists, and Dentists are the friendliest and most professional group of people you could ask for. Very up to date, clean location. Skilled and knowledgeable staff, who seem to love what they do and are more than happy to help you out in any way they can. Have been going for years and have never once had a single bad thing to say about any of the staff. Just a really great experience, every time.

Negative experience: I’ve been a customer here for years now, have always had great teeth just used this place for cleanings and checkups. Finally had an issue with sensitivity on my back tooth and came in to get it checked out. They said they knew what was wrong, drilled out my old filling and put in an “upgraded filling”. 1 month later it was worse then it was when I went in. The dentist put some spray on and and said that the pain should go away. Now months later my tooth is so sensitive I can’t even drink room temperature water without pain shooting from my teeth into my jaw. I called them just now and they said we can have a look at it again but it will be $175 just to sit in the chair. The original cost of the fix was over $800. This place only cares about getting your money and once they do, you’re useless to them. STAY AWAY! Don’t worry about commenting on this post with your “Oh thank you, we will look into this” You don’t care about the patient because if you did you would fix it without charging me another $800.

Fantastic experience: My dental situation was initially assessed by Dr. Adam Tan. I agreed to the removal of all my teeth . I was introduced to the two denturists, Vlad and Nada who arranged for initial dentures and then semi-permanent appliances. We were assisted to make Appropriate Financial arrangements. The surgery was easy and. The care I have received from the two denturists has been outstanding.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my first appointment for hygiene of my teeth. Danielle helped me to get my teeth clean also she cleared every doubts i had. She also gave some good suggestions. I would recommend Georgian Dental Barrie and also Danielle.

Negative experience: My experience here was unfortunately very bad. The cleaning I got was fine, however when I went to see the dentist it took over 45 minutes to finally speak with him. After waiting 45 minutes I spoke to Dr.Tehrani for all of five minutes, during which I asked to have a tooth polished as it was getting sharp. After this it took less than 5 minutes to polish the one tooth. I was charged for a cleaning ($192), the polishing ($28), as I expected. What I was not expecting was the charge of over $150 for a five minute conversation with a Dentist while a dental examination has only ever cost me $40. When I called to follow up, the receptionist could not provide me with a reason as to why I was charged $150 for a five minute examination that didn’t even include looking at x-rays or anything and never followed up with me like I requested. Lastly, I told the administrator who cashed me out that I needed an invoice receipt to claim for my insurance, and they gave me a form with nothing but the charges on my card and my name; it didn’t have my address, didn’t have the dentist information, and didn’t have the codes needed for the insurance companies. This nightmare experience has cost me a lot of time going back-and-forth between the dentist office and the insurance company. Do not recommend and will not be going back.
