Fantastic experience: Dr Wong has been my dentist since before he opened his private practice. He is a trusted friend and professional. Twenty years ago, Dr Wong hooked me up with 6 veneers across the front. This year, I had an issue right before Christmas where my veneer popped off (dang Christmas cookies). I was able to get an appointment the next day whereby he quickly and efficiently fixed my smile. The office is modern and clean and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend Dr Wongs practice to all of my friends and family. Five stars!

Negative experience: I recently had several dental fillings done at this clinic, and unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the quality of the work. The staff are very friendly and warm, and the clinic environment is clean and professional, but the quality of the dental work was not acceptable for me. Issues I experienced: The fillings developed problems very quickly. The surface of the filling feels uneven when I touch it with my tongue. Dental floss gets caught on the filling and tears. The appearance of the fillings was not natural the first time, and I had to return for a correction. Less than a month after the correction, the filling became faulty again. I chose this clinic based on the positive Google reviews, but based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend it. Although the staff were kind and respectful, I was not satisfied with the final result of the treatment. Thank you for the response. The filling and its correction were performed by another dentist at the clinic, and despite returning once, the issue was not resolved and the filling failed. I will follow up directly with the office.

Fantastic experience: I had my teeth fixed yesterday with Dr. Elston Wong yesterday after a horrible experience with a different dentist, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about this clinic. From the moment I walked in, Dr. Wong and his team made me feel completely welcome and at ease. I came in to have my two front teeth repaired—they’d been done terribly elsewhere, and I was so self-conscious about them. Two front teeth are a big deal, and Dr. Wong treated them like a big deal. He took so much time and care to get every detail perfect, and the result is beyond anything I hoped for. Not only is his work exceptional, but he explains everything clearly, checks in often, and genuinely cares about how you’re feeling. You can tell he values both quality and patient comfort. I left feeling confident, grateful, and—yes—we joked about this—I feel like he made me look hot again. If you’re looking for a dentist who is incredibly skilled, kind, and meticulous, look no further. I cannot recommend Dr. Wong and his team enough!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr. Wong since he opened his own practice. It is a great place to go because you always feel important as all staff are personable and engaging. My hygienist Lindsay is amazing! I am at a higher risk for several types of dental problems and Dr. Wong has done an excellent job of helping me through each. I am always amazed at how things in dentistry change over time and it seems like he always has a new piece of equipment that boosts his abilities and increases patient comfort. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Dr. Elston Wong’s clinic since I moved to Barrie over ten years ago, and I can confidently say the care here is the best I’ve received in my entire life. Dr. Wong is very knowledgeable and spends the time to understand any concerns I have and figure out the problem. Nancy is a phenomenal dental hygienist, and on the occasions when I can’t see her, the rest of the hygiene team is always just as friendly, professional, and incredibly gentle. My kids now go here as well (4 and 7), and they are truly amazing with children. My son has had two cavities, and his most recent one this week was quite deep. I was amazed by how smoothly Dr. Wong handled the entire filling. He kept my son at ease, even making him laugh and smile at times during the appointment. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. The level of empathy, skill, and patient-centred care at this clinic is absolutely top tier. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had to have a broken tooth/ filling replaced. Broke on Monday, saw Dr. Wong on Tuesday, repaired quickly ( as in not a big fan of needles and drill, he got right down to business) and tooth is perfect. Also, gave me freezing in small amount at first, enough to freeze me so that second freezing was painless. Would highly recommend Dr. Wong and staff to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Elston Wong! I broke off my front veneer on a Saturday The first day of my holiday. I called the dentistry office and to my relief, Dr. Wong fit me in off hours (on a Sunday night )to fill my tooth with a temporary filling! i am now booked for a new veneer. Dr. Elston is a perfectionist. He uses a microscope and 3D photo imaging to ensure the perfect fit. I was sent to the lab to colour match my other front veneer . This office is so professional. For cosmetic or general dentistry I recommend this clinic!

Fantastic experience: I have a small mouth/jaw & was terrified by past dental experiences. But, wow… first off, I’ve never been so painlessly frozen. Then, I was shocked by how not crappy getting my tooth pulled was; I was amazed at not feeling a thing. Dr. Wong & staff were not only professional, kind, and compassionate, they struck me as uncommonly empathetic. If all dental clinics were like them, the world would simply have many more happy smiles!

Fantastic experience: Why would your dentist take your blood pressure? Because oral health and a healthy body are equally important. More critically, it can make sure you are and stay healthy! I’ve been a patient of Doctor Wong for approximately two years after requiring urgent care over the holidays. Doctor Wong called me on New Year’s Day and offered to come into his office to take care of me that day. While that wasn’t necessary. He did come into his office on Christmas Eve to take care of my wife’s broken tooth, interrupting his Christmas shopping with his family to make sure my wife was cared for. Susan REALLY appreciated that! Nancy, a Registered Dental Hygienist, is one of the outstanding team. Nancy takes care of my routine cleaning and check ups, and she is both professional and has a real gift with people (and dogs). I was perplexed at first when she took my blood pressure. I was even more perplexed when I found my blood pressure to be higher than it should be each time. I initially put it off to the nervousness of being in a dentist office. Over the course of several visits, my blood pressure remained high. I then purchased my own blood pressure cuff and began to monitor my blood pressure regularly. Much to my surprise it was in an unhealthy range for an extended period of time. As a consequence, I looked at the root cause and not surprisingly found excess sodium appeared to be the reason. I immediately reduced my sodium intake substantially and I’m now seeing the lowest blood pressure readings in years. My sincere appreciation to Doctor Wong and his commitment to the philosophy of preventative medicine. A big shout out to Nancy and her nonjudgmental way of helping me come to understand I needed to take care of an issue unrelated to my teeth, but extremely important to my overall health. Finally, a shout out to Keshia, Anna, Tannen and the entire team at this practice. While not everyone enjoys going to the dentist, but you won’t find a more caring, professional team and one with such a positive vibe. Thank you to the entire team.

Negative experience: Google removed my review from public view after a horrible dental experience. Elston TWICE stated on this public forum that I was never his patient. He asked me to contact him and never replied to my e-mails. I went in for full wisdom teeth removal. This procedure took FIVE hours. That night I puked over forty times because I ingested too much blood. He provided me two squares of gauze to care for my wisdom teeth. At one point in his struggle to provide dental care, he slipped and cut my gums, requiring stitching. I could continue describing his inadequate care but I am sure you have the idea. Choosing Elston Wong for my dental care turned into one of the worst experiences I have had in my life. I only chose Elston because of his google reviews. Look at them, 5.0! I made a formal complaint to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons and after a year they said that it was normal to be in the chair for five hours during wisdom tooth removal, its okay for him to lie and say I am not a patient, and the level of care he gave was in line with what is expected of a dentist. Jokes begot jokes.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr Wong in Barrie for 23 years and have always had an excellent experience at every visit. His staff are friendly and polite and take the time to explain each procedure before they proceed. Dr Wong has invested in technology that enables my hygienist to “air polish” my teeth instead of using a traditional “scraping technique” to remove plaque build-up. This procedure is completely painless, it relieves any anxiety that I have for my routine dental appointments and I don’t have any sensitivity in my teeth after they have been cleaned. I seem to confuse all my friends when I say I look forward to cleanings, check ups, anything about a dentist appointment because it’s always been a very relaxing, informative, and painless experience - maybe something to consider if you have any mixed emotions about visits elsewhere. Additionally, nowhere else seems to have anywhere near the same technology when I mention what I have done, which is something I value! Positive experience: Dental care here is good. State-of-the-art equipment and treatment. 3-stars for the following reasons: - very short business hours and difficulty obtaining appointments; - higher than average cost. I have premium health coverage and I still have to pay out-of-pocket for all procedures including cleaning and check-ups; - expensive and unnecessary treatments such as Invisalign are suggested - I've had second and third opinions from other dentists and maxillofacial surgeons.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but great things to say about this practice. Dr Wong’s office has been nothing but kind and professional since I’ve been one of their patients. As someone who had developed a discontent for dentists from past experiences with other practices, they were able to put my mind at ease and take the steps with me to essentially rebuild that trust. From the way his staff speaks of him and their job, to how he took care of his employees health and safety during the pandemic and supported them financially during the initial shutdown, their vast expertise and areas of specialization. From the surgeons to the assistants and hygienists, each of them seems extremely knowledgable in their own rights with different areas of dental health even including the tongue and how it adapts and effects. With the mouth and jaw being our main way of ingesting, I haven’t trusted anyone more to have their hands in there working around and things I can’t see and know nothing of. They are also very willing to explain and educate during my appointments. Which helps out me at ease and learn more of what I can do on a regular basis to improve my case as a whole.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Wong for a few years now. Dr. Wong and his staff are up to date about the most current dental practices to keep your teeth healthy. Recently I called because of a problem with a crown that my last dentist put in. I was seen the next day and Dr. Wong took great care to repair the problem. He also called me a couple of days later to ask if there were any further issues with that tooth. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. The hygienists are gentle and thorough. Fantastic experience: I had a great dental hygiene visit with Andie! She used an air polish machine during my cleaning, which was a first for me at any dental office. My teeth have never felt or looked better! Andie also took the extra step to screen me for airway and myofunctional disorders, something I had never experienced before. It was a very thorough visit. Fantastic experience: I had my first crown put on a back wisdom tooth about a month ago, to prevent food from getting trapped, and couldn't be more pleased. I have a strong gage reflex, and he did it without the tent. It was fast, and painless. So impressed, my son switched to his clinic. Thank you Elston, I can't recommend you enough.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but great experiences at this office. They use an advanced hygiene system which make your teeth feel and look great. I am also doing myofunctional therapy with Andie to help eliminate my mouth breathing habit. Dr. Wong and Dr. Pabari provide high quality care and I wouldn't ever think of switching offices.

Negative experience: We were with Dr Wong for years and things were great. My child developed anxiety around needles and dental visits. At one visit, my child had a panic attack and refused to go forward with a cavity filling procedure. Dr. Wong was very unsympathetic and annoyed. Another time, after waiting four months for my cleaning appt, they emailed to cancel 2 hours before. When I asked why, they said I did not respond to the text confirmations. Unfortunately I had to change my cell number and completely forgot to inform the dentist (I understand, not their fault), but if they would have tried to call, or emailed me notices as well, I would have been aware of the requests for confirmation, and they would have known of the cell phone number change. I have never been a no-show for an appointment. I reached out as soon as it was cancelled within minutes, (which they notified me by email, I will mention again - the irony) and explained the situation (I had to change my number, I was being harrassed), hoping my spot was still there. I booked time off work a well. They did not care. Sucks to be me. I'd have to wait another 4 months. I also later learned that my child would cry during cleanings out of fear, but the hygienists would pay no attention, or would not notice. We decided it was time to find a new dentist.

Positive experience: I went for a teeth cleaning a few months ago. I must say, their teeth cleaning was by far one of the best I had been to (they use a different methodology). The reason for the 4 stars is, in my opinion, the dental hygienist was really trying to sell me. At one point she even said “oh, your teeth shouldn’t be like this. This is like the worst news ever.” Let me sell you this cleaning solution that anti-cavity. Was she friendly? Yes, but was she also using scare tactics, in my opinion yes. There is a more professional way of talking about a clients health. Again, the teeth cleaning itself is great. Just make sure you choose the right hygienist.

Dr. Wong gave me a lot of reassurance and made the process very easy. He did an excellent job and I’m very happy with the results. Fantastic experience: My family has been patients of Dr. Wongs for many, many years - prior to when he established his own practice up to recently when he relocated to an incredible state of the art location in south Barrie. Many things have changed over the years - our family has grown, we are retired but the care that Dr. Wong and his team have provided us over the years has been stellar! Always professional, always efficient, friendly, reliable and mostly, very caring. I would recommend Dr. Wong and his Team to care for any and all your dental needs. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about my experience having my teeth cleaned here. The staff is so friendly and efficient and made the experience so much better than I thought it would be. I had been not been to the dentist in five years because of Covid and then because my dentist was no longer available. I was worried that I would be shamed for waiting so long and have a long and painful visit to catch up with cleaning. That wasnt the case at all. Nicolette was my hygenist and right from the beginning, I felt like she was trying to get to know me and cared about my experience being stress and pain free. I was so relaxed during my cleaning that I almost fell asleep twice. I highly recommend this dental office. From state of the art equipment to the warm and welcoming staff, I felt like I was in the best hands possible.

She took the time to explain everything to me and even recommended Myofunctional Therapy to me to help me get a better sleep. Fantastic experience: Dr Wong and his team are simply the best dentistry office I have been to - period. I Cannot overstate the quality of care I recieve here. I have had 5 different dentists and none have even come close to the same level here. Admin staff. Friendly, helpful, great communication & help out with sorting out insurance and finance. Dr Wong. VERY friendly, caring, gentle, and knowledgable. I never worry going in for any work because the team will go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable. Quality of work is always 100%. I hold them to a high standard and they always exceed it. Pricing. There is a price to pay for all the pros listed above. I know I could get cheaper care elsewhere. However, since insurance covers majority, I am willing to pay the extra in the odd case that I have to fork out any of my own money. However, this is absolutely a "You get what you pay for" kind of situation. When it comes to my dental health I do not want to cut corners & will always be returning here.

Negative experience: WARNING: THIS BUSINESSS DELETES REVIEWS! I spoke to Elston Wong over the phone due to missing my appointment for being sick, and was told by receptionist Anna I had to pay a $50 deposit if I choose to come back. Wong came to the phone within a few minutes when I requested him from Anna, and immediately told me I missed an appointment without asking what happened or care about my side of the experience. To preface, I’m a new patient. I called them back about a month later to rebook, and explained a deposit is not right. It is not about the money, but the mere principle of paying a deposit every time I come in for a visit displays a lack of trust in the patient. I stated, firmly, future appointments will not be missed, even apologized, and said I would love to come in for x-rays. Dr Wong refused to proceed without the deposit, and displayed clear signs of 0 empathy, and being money hungry. He arbitrarily told me I missed three appointments with him which is not true. He compared me missing my dental visit for being sick to missing a “hotel booking” and wanted either a deposit, or my credit card on file to come back. Clearly with this reaction, I should have just came into the office sick.

Fantastic experience: Nancy did my cleaning today and I couldn’t be more happy. This is the first time I’m actually feeling confident and happy about my cleaning. I never had my teeth this nice after a cleaning from any other place. Now my mom wants me to call and book her an appointment too lol. Nancy made me feel so welcomed since it was my first time here and I actually learned a lot of new stuff about my teeth and cleaning which no other hygienist cared to even talk about. She was so pleasant and I only want her to ever do my cleaning!!! You guys are the best!!! Thank you

I went in for a cleaning and it was by far the most thorough cleaning I have ever had. Nancy was very informative and took her time to explain every step of the procedure. Fantastic experience: Dr. Wong is amazing! Everything at their office is state of the art. The staff is caring and friendly. My husband and I both had to get quite a bit done, and we’re both incredibly happy with the results. Dr. Wong is even accessible outside of appointments if you have questions, and he always calls to check on you after you get dental work done to see how you’re healing. We get our cleanings done with Nicolette and she’s also wonderful. She takes her time and does a very thorough job. If you want the best dental care possible (or have dental anxiety) this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I found Dr. Wong when we moved to Barrie from Toronto just over two years ago. I have never had a dentist follow up with us on the weekend after more invasive procedures. My son was home from Edmonton for the holidays when he woke up with one cheek swollen the size of an orange! Dr. Wong responded to my call within an hour even though the office was closed for the Christmas m/New Year’s holidays. He called the dental surgeon in Edmonton and while we needed a trip to the hospital for intravenous antibiotics, Dr. Wong called on Saturday to check up on my son. Great dentist who cares about his patients, has a very modern practice, and an amazing team of hygenists and administrative staff!

Fantastic experience: My husband was going in for open heart surgery. With this surgery your teeth need to be cleaned and in good condition due to the risk of bacteria coming from the mouth into the bloodstream, then to the heart. My husband hadn't been to a dentist for years because of his dislike and pain it usually causes him. Dr. Wong came highly recommended... and did he ever live up to that recommendation. My husband had a painless cleaning because Dr.Wong used a new technique that doesn't involve picks and hooks. He had painless filings and after each visit, he came out smiling. Who comes out smiling after the dentist? Dr. Wong, you can be sure that we will definitely come back to you. Fantastic experience: After taking a fall and knocking a tooth out, I was sent to Dr. Wong to get the tooth put back in and he did a fantastic job. He was very thorough when explaining everything about the procedure and how I should be taking care of my teeth during the healing process. Not only did he stay late to do the procedure for me but he did a really good job at making me feel at ease during my time there.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wong's tagline is serious, thoughtful dentistry. This is 100% accurate. Dr. Wong looks at issues from a best-practice point of view, looking at all the options and then recommending collaboratively which is the best one for the PATIENT, not for his bottom line. He even calls after hours to check up on how things are going after a procedure. This may sound self-evident, but I have some experience with past dentists who were better salesmen than dentists, recommending all kinds of treatments, sometimes of dubious value to the patient but excellent value for THEIR bank account. Very pleased to recommend Dr. Wong - as well as his team both in admin and as hygienists - as the best and most trustworthy I've had. And I've had a few! All of our family comes here and I have been happy to recommend Dr. Wong and his team to others as well. Overall, they truly look out for patients first and are successful because people feel in safe hands and keep coming back.

Fantastic experience: I don't have dental insurance so I don't go to the dentist very often. Luckily I was blessed with very good teeth. However every few years I treat myself to a full clean and treatment by the hygienist. This office has the best staff. My hygienist was Angie, she does such a great job. If I had insurance, I would go as often as I could.
