Fantastic experience: This team is always so helpful and friendly, specially the people working the front desk. Dentists aren't the most fun places to visit but they kept me laughing while helping me sort out my next appointment and more importantly the payments. It feels like they do as much as they can to minimize what the client pays and maximize want the insurance plan pays. I have had root canals, cleanings, fillings and more over at least 10 years of using this office.

Positive experience: Giving this dentist a try as it’s very close to our new place. The staff are great and very kind. The dentist himself was really really good with my 8 year old and took the extra time to explain a few things to him and just general good bedside manner, age appropriate dental care for a child. Very happy with our new dentist office and the front staff are also great! Our one star is only because we waited quite a while for appt to start due to them being behind. Which of course happens sometimes with appointments and In hopeful was just this time and not all the time. Overall our experience here was great and I would recommend this dental office.

I've have many bad experiences throughout the years so a place like this has been a godsend. My dentist is the founder and owner of Mercato and he goes above and beyond. Negative experience: My partner had four wisdom teeth removed this morning. He told the dentist multiple times the numbing was not working. They continued with the surgery as they were “running behind”. I expect medical professionals to provide more care for their patients. Whether that meant to send him home as medication was not working, or continuing to provide pain relief. This establishment is employing hacks.

Negative experience: In June/ July 2025 I had simple extraction done here, and they charged for surgical extraction. Upon questioning, the Receptionist was very rude, and offensive and other one joined her in the offensive. After initially refusing for me to speak with the dentist, the dentist showed up at reception and fixed the charges, however the receptionist still billed wrong charge to my providers (despite pretending to be shredding the wrong invoice, which she did not), it is only because I had the copies of both bills with me that I was able to prove to my providers what they did. The providers had to step in to fix the wrong charges. I will never trust them ever, I felt unsafe and moved my treatment which was not finished then to other dental group. I reviewed the charges they made in 2023 also, only to find the same pattern of wrong charges - simple extraction charged as surgical. I would advice all to check your bills well and always take the copy of your invoices. I am contemplating lodging a formal complaint to College of Dentists of BC.

Dr Cheng provided details of the exam within a timely manner and we'll explained details for a follow-up appointment and schedule for upcoming cleaning, without delay!

Fantastic experience: I just had to share my experience there today. I grew up in foster care and was literally traumatized by the dentist we were taken to, thank you government... I do not normally leave reviews but I just had to say I am overwhelmed with gratitude of just how gentle, kind, compassionate, understanding and amazing the dentist and his assistant was... it was a difficult molar extraction and it cracked a bit in the process of removal. Bit they made me feel so safe and cared for, nothing like the absolute torture (extractions and root canals with no freezing) I experienced as a child. The whole staff there was wonderful. They truly helped me heal today. So grateful.

Fantastic experience: Great experience, at Mercato Dental Centre: : Mercato Dental is not my regular dentist. However, midday today I realized I had a dental emergency…possibly an abscess? I needed to know. Unable to get in to see my dentist on such short notice, just before 4:00 p.m. I began calling random dental offices in my area. I lucked out with a place just down the street - Mercato Dental. They fit me in same day, at 6:30 p.m. The office personnel and the dentist who saw me were polite and efficient. Within maybe 20 mins, x-rays had been taken and I had a likely diagnosis with an optional referral to a dental specialist. Then, out the door to the pharmacy…literally across the street. I was able to make it home, prescriptions filled, within the hour! The experience was hassle free. What a pleasant surprise. ___________________________________ Consistency… A year later, dealing with another dental emergency - I’ve just had a similar positive experience with Mercato Dental Centre.

I came in to get a filling and I was honest about how I felt and they could not have been nicer. My dentist said I was the captain and that he was there to help me. That made me feel way less scared. It was done quickly and painlessly.

Fantastic experience: My Dentist at Mercato is a magician. He took a difficult tooth and found a way to save it. And I am probably one of the most nervous patients he has had and yet he did it with skill and sensitivity. Easy peasy. Thank you.

Negative experience: Tried to get me to have X-rays taken when I did not need them. Got the wrong post for my implant three times and the proper part was in my dental notes from my previous dentist, what a waste of time. Terrible clinic.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient here for about three years and I’ve always been impressed about their professionalism, dedication to care, and flexibility. They were able to fit me in at the last minute this week to check on a sore tooth. When my night guard was damaged they replaced it no questions asked. They’ve worked with me on rescheduling as needed with no issues. They have a great reminder system, good notifications which is perfect for someone like me who is scatterbrained at times. I’ve had dodgy dentists in Vancouver, trying to upsell me on things I don’t need. I’m lucky to have friends in the dental industry who I can talk to about fees and procedures, otherwise I might’ve been hosed but I’ve never once had this issue at Mercato. If you’re looking for a great, no frills dental clinic, this is it!
