From start to finish I felt well taken care of. Dr. Bernhauser and the assistant were kind and attentive and explained to me what they were doing every step of the way.

Miriam, my dental hygienist is fantastic, I love how gentle she is on my teeth and her caring personality. I find that she makes my dental visits more enjoyable. I appreciate Bal for all her hard work at the front desk. She is great at multi tasking and goes extra mile to help align all of our family appointments.

Fantastic experience: I felt very well cared for at this clinic. The entire team is kind, helpful, and patient, always making sure to answer questions and provide support. The hygienists who do the cleanings are wonderful as well, always checking in to ensure you’re comfortable throughout. Dr. Shahrzad is excellent; she explains each procedure as she goes and even follows up afterward to see how you’re doing. The front desk staff are also friendly and accommodating. Overall, every visit has been a great experience where I truly feel cared for.

Fantastic experience: Always feel in very experienced and capable hands. The place is run very well, with very professional staff.

Negative experience: I visited Royal Centre Dental Group in December for a broken crown and was treated by Dr. Benhouser. After X-rays, I was told I needed a refilling and a new root canal and was referred to a specialist. I paid $300 at RCDG but received no treatment at that visit. I later had my root canal completed by Dr. Neda at a downtown endodontics clinic, who was excellent—highly skilled and professional. After the root canal, I contacted RCDG for a permanent filling and crown. Despite my request to complete the tooth before the holidays, the office postponed treatment to January and refused to do the permanent filling in December, even though I was willing to pay out of pocket. I had to wait several weeks with a temporary filling, which caused significant stress. In January, I was quoted $215 for the filling and $1,700 for the crown, but during the appointment I was pressured to undergo an additional $300 exam, which I declined. The final filling cost increased to $400, with limited explanation. While the reception staff were polite and accommodating, my experience with Dr. Benhouser lacked transparency, clear communication, and professionalism. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this clinic based on my experience with the dentist.

Negative experience: Yesterday I went there for my son’s wisdom tooth. Based on my search, I was expecting to see more experienced doctor, with a higher level of information and knowledge. Dr Shahrzad is very inexperienced, her recommendations was not a professional one, that’s why I would prefer to find another place.

Fantastic experience: Dr Bernhauser and team have given my teeth the best care I have ever had. The doctor is so knowledgeable, has seemingly infinite patience (though being so busy - how does he do it?!), shows genuine care, answers all my pesky questions, and is honest and transparent. I can tell that the practise is always on a tight schedule with a full client list but the team always gives me their full attention and care and that’s the comfort a patient needs when undergoing dental work. Dr B combines his amazing technical expertise with an equally incredible hand for delicate and creative “artistry” that is very much involved in the world of veneers. I’ve been on my teeth correction journey (Invisalign then whitening and replacement of two veneers) for about 2 years now and I’m almost done. Through this whole period Dr B guided me through, always remembered our conversations and my case details specifically, and provided the best guidance. (You'd think this would be the standard for all dentists, but that definitely isn't the case!) Dr B went above and beyond to take his time to make sure I was happy with the final shape of my porcelain veneers and I couldn’t be happier with my investment and trust. Can’t recommend this practise enough!

Before cruise was staying at Hyatt Regency Vancouver and noticed RCDG downstairs. Contacted via email while in Alaska - reply and service was very prompt and helpful. Fantastic experience: Very professional and welcoming. It was my first time there and they were very welcoming and understanding from the initial call which I made. The person who answered the phone was very professional and gave me all the information I needed and booked my appointment promptly. I was treated by Dr. Bernhauser who extracted my wisdom tooth. The pressure was non existent. I was told of what to expect before during and after my procedure and I was made to feel like a regular client. I will be going back there because the service was excellent.

Negative experience: Very disappointing, as soon as I asked about the Canadian coverage, I was told I had to pay upfront, when I can see here in the reviews that some people get claims made on their own insurance. I have a dental emergency and I really need some help. Unfortunately these guys are not willing and don’t put the patient clearly.

Negative experience: I feel bad giving a negative review - I don’t do it, I always find something positive. Having been told that I need to pay for all services upfront, including for the Canada dental care program I was shocked because I’ve seen on the reviews that other clients have paid deductibles. Fantastic experience: I showed up at opening with a dental emergency, expecting to wait but hoping being in person may help my cause (visible swelling etc). They were able to get me in almost instantly with the expectation of getting an xray and exam and probably coming back at a better time for any treatment. They ended up doing everything i needed to deal with the acute situation. Dr Ken, his reception staff and colleagues i dealt with were all exceptionally compassionate and i feel encouraged to pursue better dental health after this interaction. Truly kind and caring staff, i felt complete respect during my whole visit, and no judgement about the poor state of my oral health

Negative experience: This was bad. I booked a cleaning. This hygienist spent 1 hour scratching my bottom teeth. That's all he did. After one hour he was like "oh yeah, that's it, you have to book another appointment". I left with my mouth tasting like latex, wasn't even given anything to spit, no products applied, no brushing. Just 1h of this man scrapping my teeth with a metal toothpick. No amount of dirt accumulation could ever justify this. They knew I had insurance, so just wanted to make money out of me. Got me once, won't get me twice. Now I need to go somewhere else where they will actually finish their job and I can leave the place with a fresh and clean mouth. This isn't it, don't waste your money. I do have to say, no one had ever scrapped my teeth with such dedication and, in that he did a great job and was very pleasant and polite. Figured I should add that in there. Just wish he had actually provided the full service as one would expect when booking a cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I was on a flight from Toronto to Vancouver and in the air I started to have intense tooth pain. When I landed, for 48 hours I was just popping ibuprofen's knowing I needed to see an emergency dentist. I was going to be traveling to the states after and knew I had to deal with it in Vancouver. When you search "emergency dentist" in Vancouver there are a lot of places that pop up, so it's hard to choose. I called a few places, and messaged 2. One called me back almost too quickly, didn't take down any of my information, didn't ask for any information, yet booked me an appointment. I just had a weird feeling about this. When I spoke to RCDG, they took a lot of info, wanted to know specifics about what was going on, had me fill out intake info so they could call my dentist in Toronto, etc. I saw them the same day I called, and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The people I saw were kind, and made me feel comfortable and eased my nerves. I walked out with a very small bill and a prescription for antibiotics. If I lived here, this would for sure be my regular dentist.

Fantastic experience: My initial appointment began exactly on time, and the Doctor was very thorough and efficient from start to finish. He could have sold me an expensive procedure which I would have considered doing, but he kindly explained that if nothing was bothering me it was not necessary to do it anytime soon. The introductory visit was very reasonably priced -- and I will be back regularly from now on.

I have looked long and hard for a clinic the past 3 years. I have had some very poor experiences to outright shady and incompetent experiences. These folks will be my regular clinic and I feel lucky to have them. They were able to fit me the same day I called and dealt with my tooth issue and figured out all my insurance for me.
