Fantastic experience: I have been examined by Dr. Aly, who was very professional, respectful, courteous and explained my case clearly and what are my options. Her assistant (I think her name was Anna) was equally respectful and professional. Overall the attitude in the clinic is positive and welcoming. Five stars well deserved.

Positive experience: I was very happy with Sylvia, the dental hygienist, who did a cleaning, and with my doctor who did three fillings. However, I'm not happy at all with the management and communication at this practice. First, I had booked an appointment at 3:20pm, was reminded of this 2 weeks earlier and confirmed it. However, two days before the appointment, the reminder I got suddenly said 3pm so I called and asked whether they had made a mistake to which the admin person just said 'No, I have you at 3pm'. She didn't even apologize when I explained that there clearly had been a mistake on their side and I had to ask to 're-book' the appointment (which they did, to 3:15). However, on the day of the appointment, I got a reminder for 3:10pm! When I showed up just before 3:15pm that day and explained that I was a bit frustrated with the reminders, the admin person didn't show herself very apologetic and even said that 'even though I was a bit late, they could still go ahead with the appointment as planned'. In addition to this, I had to come in three separate times over the course of six weeks, just to get a cleaning and three fillings done. After the initial assessment, they gave me an appointment for my three fillings and the cleaning. However, when I showed up, they said no, the appointment was only for the three fillings and I would have to make a new appointment for the cleaning - even though I had clearly asked for the cleaning to be done that day as well. The doctor did his thing and said goodbye - I thought I was done with the fillings. It was only at the front desk that the assistant said that I needed another appointment for the third filling - no explanation whatsoever why it wasn't done on that day as well as planned. I had to ask at my third appointment and they explained that they don't like to freeze someone's whole mouth (my fillings were in three different places), which makes sense but could have just been explained to me, when I booked the appointment in the first place. They clearly made a mistake there and didn't think it through, because they knew where my fillings needed to be done beforehand. Overall, I'm just frustrated by the bad appointment management and communication in this practice and hope they do better in the future.

Positive experience: Excellent care was given. Dentist is also quite patient and understanding of patients needs.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this office for a very long time. My dentist retired, but his replacement stepped in without a hitch. Dr Rad and his assistant Alexa recently fixed a cracked tooth that needed to be crowned. I ended up having a permanent bridge inserted due to a missing molar, so I now have all my chompers back in fine biting form. Thanks

Fantastic experience: My first time at a dentist in way too long to say but these folks were super non judgmental and super helpful! I've had slight chips in my front teeth and they reshaped it so easy so I'm not self conscious about it anymore... it made me wish I came here years ago! Thanks Lily and Dr. O'Brien! Fantastic experience: I appreciated the professionalism at Lawen Dentistry. I was in the market for a new dentist after relocating to Halifax a year ago. My experience with Lawen was professional from the start. The intake process was efficient. Appointments are quick and easy to book and the staff is experienced with insurance claims, making the process simple and stress-free. The hygienists are thorough and the dentist has a quiet calm demeanour that puts your nerves at ease when going to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. O'Brien is the ABSOLUTE BEST dentist. She is so gentle and caring. Honestly, I've never had anyone give me freezing like her. She does it with expertise that I've never experienced. You won't feel a thing - honestly! For someone who is 'extremely' nervous, she puts your mind at ease. All the staff provide exceptional service, you're greeted with a smile and reassurance that all will be fine from the time you walk in til you leave. Special shout out to Linda who is always my biggest cheerleader and to my hygienist, Jordan who is also so, so gentle and makes me feel comfortable!

Fantastic experience: Today I was served somewhat less well than usual. 1) Last night my tooth broke with out any sign of pain before or after. Immediately I wrote to my usual location but this morning that message had not arrived. I don't think it was my error but.... 2) One staff member told me Dr. Lawren worked today(Wed.) and another told me he never worked on Wednesdays. However, all seemed to turn out well --I took a chance with a new dentist -I took a chance to decide to have the new dentist f i l l the tooth, The move to include two locations has necessarily resulted in some confusion for staff and patients. POSITIVE : the dental assistant did something different than most and it helped me. ****Once I check my calendar I will request an appointment for a CROWN which has been recommended regularly since before I met Dr. Lawren.

Fantastic experience: I had my Invisalign treatment done with Dr. Lawen and I’m very pleased with the results. He corrected my underbite and closed the gaps between my teeth, giving me a more confident smile. The whole process was straightforward, and his team was very supportive throughout. I’m grateful for their excellent care and would confidently recommend them to anyone considering Invisalign.

Negative experience: I had cavity filling after the dental examination, and I have 2 years of constant sensitivity. Actually I didnt feel pain before the filling, they did dental check and gave me a plan which costs exactly the same as my dental insurance limit, so reconsider before going with them.

Positive experience: Wonderful experience in the office itself. Leslie was my hygienist and she was wonderful (I am booked in with her again). However, it’s my first time back in some time and I felt extremely discouraged to be met with full cost upfront. Dentistry can range and vary so much in cost from appointment to appointment. Like I said I need to go back for 2 seperate appointments and now will need to spread them out for this reason. If it wasn’t for my exceptional service with all parties I’d likely score lower for this reason. I’d also like to include I had never had an issue with timing upon leaving at the reception area- there is mostly always 3 individuals there to help (one of the reasons for no direct billing is more time face to face with clients).

Fantastic experience: Best staff anywhere! I’ve been happily seeing dental assistant Anna and hygienist Lori for many years. Both professional and personable, they really listen and take time to explain and provide options. When my longtime dentist retired, of course I was sceptical about being able to replace such a trust-based relationship, but to my surprise and delight - and relief! - it’s been an absolutely seamless transition. Dr Aly is just wonderful - gentle but firm, proficient and kind - and I am very happy with her work. She is a totally appropriate and tremendously valuable addition to this great team. I highly recommend this place to anyone of any age.

The folks at Lawen Dentistry were able to fit me into their busy schedule very promptly, and did the necessary procedure to re-attach the crown. Positive experience: The dentists and staff are truly exceptional, providing high-quality care and service in a convenient location. However, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The requirement to pay upfront and then wait for insurance reimbursement can be inconvenient, especially for larger expenses. Additionally, the inability to pay with American Express, despite its widespread use in 2024, felt limiting and could be seen as excluding some clients. Addressing these concerns could enhance the overall patient experience.

Positive experience: Been there few times for hygiene, all the staffs were friendly. Update: My husband completed the Invisalign here and after we moved to Calgary, a doctor who is a diamond pointed out the treatment wasn’t done properly. There are still gaps left between his upper and lower teeth.

I needed a filling replaced and am a 60 yr old baby when it comes to having dental procedures: they took great care, explained everything as it was happening and I had zero pain during the replacement and after. Your reviews are mostly excellent and I needed a dentist to solve teeth issues due to dry mouth; a chipped tooth and more than 10 cavities. Employees are always cheerful and polite. Fantastic experience: I got restoration done on one of my front tooth today by Dr. Lawen and it was a very pleasant visit. Loved the welcoming nature of all the staff, Terra who helped me prep and did a new patient examination on me was wonderful and made me feel a lot comfortable. Dr. Aly was particularly understanding and non-judgemental. After recommending another patient, they sent the cutest card as well! Negative experience: Unpleasant Invisalign process. The hygenists/dental assistants do most of the work, the dentist pops in now & then. The whitening is just strips they send you home with. I didn't find them personable, they're overpriced unless you're an "Influencer". They did nothing to rectify their admitted mistake so I was out $3,000+ with no improvement. *In response to the reply from Lawen dentistry* As an adult, I don’t tend to forget the businesses I spend over $3,000 at. They definitely do have my file just as I have my receipts. I paid out of pocket because I could afford to. Insurance wasn't used. I stick by my review.

Fantastic experience: As a first time patient, I have to say the entire team at Lawen was wonderful. They were able to fit me in on short notice and they were all very kind and welcoming. As someone with a lot of anxiety around all things dental, I found visiting Lawen Dentistry to be a very positive experience. Both Heather and Dr. Kottapalli are excellent.

Negative experience: I had a routine cavity filled and it's been 2 years of constant sensitivity and pain where it was performed. I've had another dentist check the work and it was bad to say the least. The new dentist said that they permanently damaged my tooth. At Lawens, the dentist and staff talked about pop culture the entire time while drilling out important pieces of myself. I would never come back here or recommend this place to anyone I care about. They may do a good cleaning but anything else I would avoid

Fantastic experience: I started my Invisalign program in May 2023 and finished in October 2023 after my partner completed her program with great results. I was very happy with the results and process from start to finish. The whitening is a great part of the program as well. The team at Lawen was friendly and responsive through the whole program. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to try Invisalign.

I needed a molar pulled and I had high anxiety going into the appointment but she was very professional and made me feel at ease. All went better then I ever expected and I was in and out in 30 minutes.

Fantastic experience: With gentle persuasion by my hygienist, Lori, I finally saw the wisdom of getting two of those 30+ year-old amalgam fillings removed (by Dr. Lawen) and replaced by new crowns. Assisting personnel were supportive and encouraging. A lot of great adjectives have been used in other reviews, and patient experiences have yet to run out of complimentary phrases for Dr. Lawen and staff. And to those, I add my own experience where their communication skills - whether by way of phone, email, or in person - go a long way to building patient confidence.

Negative experience: Absolutely not. I chose this dentistry because of the high reviews which I have no idea why. After the first bad experience I chose to stay because they did try to make it better. I thought things would be right after I gave them the second chance but I was wrong. I went through another bad experience but this time they did not try to make things better. Luckily I have changed to a different dental because I don’t want to spend any more money at Lawen.

Fantastic experience: Fast, painless and professional. My only issue is because I’m a senior on a reduced fixed income I find it very difficult to pay for such services. It will now mean toast and butter for the next month. There must be a Dental program included in our National Pharmacare program. It’s absolutely shameful that dentistry is not covered.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist in the HRM. Consultations with Dr. Lawen are very professional. All appointments I’ve had with staff and dentist assistants are very personable. As a client they give the most premium quality of dental care feedback to to patients with the assistance of their advanced medical technology systems that few dental care offices provide. I likely won’t ever change dentists.

Fantastic experience: Had a cleaning with Sylvia today. Was great to be able to get in sooner than my scheduled appointment as the office called me yesterday when there was a cancellation. Always appreciate having my request for an early morning appointment considered when booking. Sylvia is the best. She has caught things long before they were issues and today was no exception. Dr.Panapalli was in today so she was able to get him to check the areas she was concerned about as Dr. Lawen is my regular dentist so I was glad I didn't have to wait.

Positive experience: I can't say enough amazing things about this dental office. Everyone is extremely kind and helpful, and despite my nervousness around the dentist, they've been gentle and help explain every step of the way. This week I had pain in a tooth and they got me in the next morning, took care of it right away, and made me feel very validated in my experience! My only warning is that you do have to pay up front because they don't do direct billing, but my insurance usually compensates me the same day so it's no biggie. Couldn't recommend them enough if you're looking for a kind, reliable, accomodating dental office!

Positive experience: Absolutely loved the results. One of my teeth needed the smallest amount of bonding, which wasn't included, so there was one tooth that wasn't perfect in the front. But otherwise, they turned out beautifully. However, the head dentist made comments about the tooth, which made me self conscious about it. When I told HIM I couldent afford the bonding he looked at me and asked, "How did you pay for this then?". I had to explain how my Uncle died and left me some money, which I shoulden't have had to bring up. The only other thing was, I had a cleaning short after. That experience was good. But the price astronomical. I will. Not be going back for anything none invisilign related.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at Dr Lawen’s office, from check-in at reception, time with hygienists through to meeting Dr Lawen himself. Extremely pleased with the gentle, yet confident approach of the 3 different hygienists I’ve had to date, all of which have been friendly, professional and incredibly accommodating/patient with my touch of anxiety at being in the dentists chair!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at Lawen dentistry! All the staff are so kind and professional. Dr. Hunter is great! She is very knowledgeable and efficient. The dentist usually makes me very anxious but she put my fears at ease and made it a comfortable experience. I couldn’t recommend her more!!

Fantastic experience: Great dentists and staff! I switched within the last year from my previous dentist and it’s been nothing but great experiences! They’re quick to book you in and very accommodating to your needs. I was even able refer someone and was rewarded for it!
