Fantastic experience: Great dental services, excellent professionals, kind staff. You cannot miss Dr. Hussain and his team if you go there. You will want to go back.

Fantastic experience: I was told Scotia Dential is a very busy clinic. Fortunately for me after my first visit, staff were able to work some "magic" and had me re-visit in 2-days on what was anticipated to be a 3-month wait for start of treatment with my special request for a time slot. Hope you can get to experience some of the "magic" too, whether for scheduling or kid treatment.

Fantastic experience: Pleasant staff. Dr Yaffe was amazing! Had a tooth extraction. He was so patient and comforting. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. Painless process! Highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: We had the most incredible experience with this dental office. My son had his very first procedure (a tooth extraction), and I was fully prepared for nerves and tears — but thanks to the amazing Dr.Azrak it turned into something completely different. From the moment we sat down, he went above and beyond to make my child feel comfortable. He asked him questions, kept him engaged, and created an entire story about “sleeping sugar bugs” needing to be chased away. He even described the tooth dancing so hard it popped right out! My son was completely captivated. What could have been scary became fun and imaginative. To top it off, there was a toy bucket at the end, which made him feel like a total rockstar. Because of this experience, my son is not only not afraid to go back for the rest of his dental work — he’s actually looking forward to it. As a parent, that means everything. And yes — they even validated my parking! We are so grateful for the kindness, creativity, and patience shown to our family. Highly, highly recommend.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with this dental office. They sent me both a text and an email to confirm my appointment. I confirmed it. Then three hours before my scheduled time, they called and cancelled. I had already waited three weeks for this appointment. After cancelling last minute, they told me the next available spot is in two more weeks. That is five weeks of waiting because of their poor scheduling. This shows zero respect for patients’ time. People take time off work and plan their day around appointments. Cancelling a few hours before and offering another appointment weeks later is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values their time.

I was offered laughing gas and it made my appointment so much less stressful. I definitely recommend Dr. Yaffe to anyone with dental anxiety. Emily at the front desk made everything seamless as well.

Fantastic experience: We had a truly delightful experience this morning at the dentist- not something many say on a regular basis! The office itself is stunning- a gorgeous stained glass work of art welcomes you upon entering. So much natural light. The admin team was a delight- service with a smile. And Dr. Lindsay James was certainly put in this planet to work with children. She is a high skilled dentist and more importantly, a wonderful person.

Fantastic experience: Amazing as always. Dr. Murty is gentle, accomodating and wonderful to talk to.

Negative experience: Had a very poor administrative experience today. I arrived for my scheduled appointment and was told at the front desk that there was no appointment, and with my further questions I got that it had been moved to two weeks later with notification by email and text. However, the text message reminder was sent less than 30 minutes before the original appointment time, when I was already on the road. Also, both the message and email did not clearly state that the appointment was RESCHEDULED — it looked like a normal appointment reminder, just with a different date, and did not use any wording such as “rescheduled” or “changed.” As a result, I wasted time traveling there unnecessarily. This level of communication and administrative handling is unprofessional and frustrating.

Fantastic experience: The service we had was exceptional. My 7 year old has been terrified to have her teeth cleaned. Prior to coming to this practice we always felt rushed, difficult or problematic. The dental hygienist was so attentive, compassionate and kind. I never thought we would have had such a positive experience. I cannot thank you enough.

Fantastic experience: I was taken in promptly after arriving. The person who cleaned my teeth (sorry I didn’t get her name) was kind and efficient. She made my next appointment as soon as she was done. Today was the best cleaning I ever had. She knows I don’t like the polishing and did it quickly.

Fantastic experience: My Dental Hygienist was excellent and fun to work with.There was a lot of laughter to go with the visit.The only problem I had was that I was there for my appointment Five minutes early and one of their staff called my home to see if I was going to make the appointment.It appears that Reception may not have notified the Hygienist that I was already in the waiting area.My appointment started about forty minutes later.This was not good but the first time delayed in my fifteen plus years of being a patient at Scotia Dental.I recommend Scotia Dental for your Dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Hands Down the Best Dentist I’ve Ever Had Growing up, I had a terrible dentist who could never properly freeze my mouth. I went through multiple appointments where I felt every bit of drilling, and it left me with a lifelong fear of the dentist. Because of that fear, I avoided going for years, which unfortunately caused a lot of preventable damage to my teeth. All of that changed when I met Dr. Hussein at Scotia Dental. From day one, he completely erased every fear I had. This man has hands of an angel, I genuinely don’t feel a single ounce of pain, ever. When I first started seeing him, I would grip the sides of the chair bracing myself, expecting the worst. Now? I literally just close my eyes and almost fall asleep during my appointments. Dr. Hussein is gentle, patient, incredibly skilled, and honestly the only dentist I fully trust. If you have anxiety about dental work or bad past experiences like I did, this is the place to go. He changed my smile, my confidence, and my entire outlook on going to the dentist. I can’t recommend him enough.

Negative experience: My appointment, which I’d been waiting three weeks for was cancelled at the last minute. I understand there may have been extenuating circumstances but the receptionist’s tone was quite rude when she delivered the message. When I asked for clarification, she responded with, “I don’t think you understand what I’m saying?” seriously? That came across as very unprofessional. Honestly, it was quite disappointing and reflects poor customer service.

Negative experience: The dental service itself was satisfactory, I was disappointed by the lack of consideration for patients’ time. It appeared that the clinic valued their own timing more than accommodating patients who are also managing work commitments. Improving consideration for patients’ schedules would enhance the overall experience.

Negative experience: I do not recommend Scotia Dental at all. • My first visit was scheduled for 3:00 PM, but I had to wait in the lobby for 40 minutes before being seen. • For my second visit, I had an appointment scheduled at 4:00 PM for a cleaning. When I arrived, I was told the appointment had been canceled — yet I received no call, text, or email letting me know. • The front desk is very disorganized and unwelcoming, which made the whole experience frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, very disappointed with the service and communication here.

My dentist is kind and gentle as are all the staff. Kudos to Dr. Murdy and her staff. She doesn't only care about your teeth and health but she genuinely cares about who you are as a person. Fantastic experience: Dr. Sathya Murty is a wonderful dentist.ive gone to her for over 20 years. She is extraordinarily gentle. She always checks with me at intervals to be sure Im doing OK and quickly addresses any discomfort. She really makes sure there is no pain at all. A really caring person who was the perfect dentist for my anxious 6 year old.

Negative experience: Had dental work done here. Looked at the details of my billing from my insurer after going to another dentist and realizing this place ripped me off. They double charged me for things. Also a $600 charge for preventative care which wasnt teeth cleaning, as they had already said i need 2 which came out as 3 charges on my insurance, this charge made no sense from anything that was done. $3000 of coverage ran out within only 3 visits 2 of which were for cleanings. When I questioned if they were sure my insurance had run out for the year after having very little done they said yes it has and made me pay for part of what was done as well. Also the 1 and only tooth i had repaired had the repair fail in less than a year! I have been to another dentist since and the charges are far less and easier to understand. I got several teeth repaired and didnt even go over my insurance for the year. Personally I would'nt go back here if it was the last dentist in the city, I would travel instead. Along with posting this review I will be reporting scotia dental to the Nova Scotia dental association, the Canadian dental association and my insurance provider.

I reached out to Scotia Dental and was very surprised (and pleased) to be able to get an appointment that day. Fantastic experience: My first visit to Scotia Dental clinic was due to a toothache that was bothering me for 6 months. I could not eat , sleep work or do anything without a pain and it had started to affect my physical and mental health. I was popping pain meds day and night. After my firat visit and consultation with Dr.Murthy I was so relieved and stress free. Yes when I say stress free I mean that because that is the amount of pain I had to go through. Dr. Murthy was thorough and so professional and polite. We scheduled a 2nd visit for the tooth extraction and the entire process was done in 45 min. I did'nt even know and the enemy was out. She has magical hands and a smile to ease a patients pain. I would like to mention about Emily the receptionist she was so amazing. I called back the next day to get a doctors letter and my doctor was out however Emily made sure she got in touch with the doctor and sent me the lettef within 30 min. Mohan at the reception is also very polite and knows how to handle people in pain. I am so glad I visited scotia dental. More than easing the pain I got peace of mind that I found a good place. Visiting today with my son for his baby tooth pain and seeing Dr.Murthy again. I am soo relieved.

Fantastic experience: Took my son to see the pediatric dentist. She was clear about concerns and the treatment plan. She was great with my son too. The dental hygienist who took the scans spoke to him according to his age and made the experience fun for him. The front desk person I dealt with was just as great. Amazing client focused service. Negative experience: JUST CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY! They don't even deserve 1 star. At the beginning they'll be very nice to you. But advises they give are totally BS, and are the ones that're totally unecessary. For instance, I got saved from almost $1200+ of fillings that they were going to do at almost 4-5 places in an one hour long sitting, until I decided to cross-check with another clinic on Spring Garden. Another clinic said my teeths look totally okay, and nothing needs to be done to intervene at this point. Also, one of the fillings Scotia Dental did before in the past caused even worse, as more food started to get deposited around those fillings than before, increasing chances of getting a cavity even further, so guess I have to visit clinic again, and again for more fillings. They just care about making money off your insrance, and recommending totally unecessary fillings. They must have some targeted income to make off patients's insurance. Always cross verify elsewhere before moving forward with any type of fillings, and extractions, and be skeptical of what they're saying. Good luck with your dental health!

Every dental assistant is beyond amazing making it so much easier to stay calm before getting work done and the Drs are very much professional in every sense while also being very personable. The assistant and Drs seem to have the absolutely sweetest bonds and make me feel like I’m apart of their conversations even when I’m not (because I can’t exactly talk when they’re in my mouth lol).
