Fantastic experience: My hygienist, Feena, was amazing! Going into my cleaning appointment, I felt a lot of anxiety but she made me feel so at ease. She checked in with me a lot during my cleaning and she took the time to educate me about good habits moving forward. I can’t express enough how thankful I am for her patience, kindness, and compassion towards me. I look forward to my next appointment with her!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at Smile Dental Group. This was my second time getting crowns done with Dr. Yeh, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. He is an artist not just a dentist , and always makes sure I feel comfortable during the whole process. The entire team is caring and professional. They really took great care of me, not only with my dental treatment but also with all the insurance paperwork, which made everything so much easier and less stressful. I highly recommend Dr. Yeh and this clinic to anyone looking for quality dental work and a staff that truly cares about their patients.

Positive experience: Usually a pretty good experience! Went for a cleaning, ended up needing an exam from a dentist. After 35 minutes of waiting, the assistant came into the room and asked if I could come back another time. No problem at all. Then while leaving, they said if I waited another two minutes someone would be able to exam me, no problem yet again. Ended up waiting another 20 minutes before being seen. This caused me to cancel plans I had after the dentist, due to the waiting for just over an hour. Usually a really good experience. Julie the hygienist is 11/10, very professional, great at conversations even with my mouth wide open lol. I’ll keep coming here of course, but just wanted to share that this appointment was a bit of a disappointment and not normal to the treatment I regularly get here. Maybe being honest with patients on timelines might save some headaches on their end. Thank you.

Negative experience: I phoned to ask if they did full sedation under general anesthesia for wisdom teeth removal. I was told they do but that only the Secord location offered it. So I booked my appointment and drove across the city only to be told they also don't offer full general anesthesia, just local. Horrible communication. Go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Smiles was able to get me in quickly for an emergency root canal within 24 hours. After the procedure I had significant pain and called them right away. Within a few hours I was back at the clinic and they were able to help me out emergently. I got 2 different dentists and both took such care and treated me kindly. This was a rough day and I’m so glad they could help me.

Negative experience: I’ve been a long-term patient at this clinic and have generally had very positive experiences, especially with Dr. Wong. The team has helped me through a previous dental emergency, which is why I’ve continued coming here and had a lot of trust in the practice. This past Saturday, I came in to have a chipped filling repaired and needed it addressed urgently, so I saw a different dentist. During the freezing, everything initially felt normal, but with the final injection something felt very off. The freezing felt extremely far back, was more painful than usual, and felt distinctly different from prior experiences. Immediately afterward, my forehead and upper facial area became numb, and I began experiencing double vision and severe blurriness. This was extremely frightening, as I had never experienced anything like this before. I immediately explained what was happening, but the dentist told me it was needle anxiety. I clearly stated that it was not anxiety and that my vision was impaired, yet my concerns were dismissed rather than acknowledged or explained. I later learned that what I experienced is a rare reaction known as diplopia caused by dental local anesthetic, a complication that can occur when anesthetic diffuses posteriorly or enters a blood vessel. My heart rate and blood pressure were taken and were very high, and I needed time to sit and breathe. After about 15 minutes, my vision returned to normal and I allowed the procedure to continue. What was upsetting was being gaslit into believing this was anxiety, despite experiencing clear neurological symptoms and having no history of anxiety during dental procedures. I am not afraid of needles and have many tattoos, including a full sleeve and back. The area injected is still very sore two days later. Going forward, I hope there’s a better response professionally in situations like this by reassuring patients, explaining reactions, and validating lived experiences rather than dismissing them. I’ve been coming here long enough that I likely had too much confidence in assuming every provider would offer the same level of care. Moving forward, I will be choosing to see Dr. Wong or Dr. Yeh exclusively.

Negative experience: Don't go to this one! They'll over charge you without notice you, and directly claim your Insurance. I went there to check my kid's teeth, they didn't told me what should be include and eventually gave me the bill which much more than expectation.

Fantastic experience: Had a crown break and was able to get in the next day for an emergency temp replacement! Then because of the Christmas break I was booked back a few days later for the install of the new one. Service was quick, staff was friendly and dentist was very knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the crown that was made and colour matched, looks better than my other one I have. I can’t wait to break the other one to go back and see them again for the other! lol

Negative experience: Before the appointment, I submitted information for two insurance companies. However, the front desk did not inform me in advance which procedures were not covered by insurance. No cost estimate or warning was provided prior to treatment. After all procedures were completed, I was told that certain items were not covered and that I needed to pay over $120 out of pocket. This was very disappointing and frustrating,

Fantastic experience: After my recent visits here, this will be my dentist office for life. I've had some awful experiences with Dentist's around Edmonton, and have had none of the judgment here. I had a complicated wisdom tooth extracted last year, and Dr. Jim Haymour was both friendly, and reassuring. The man is an absolute professional and removed the tooth (which had a root on a nerve) within 3 to 4 minutes. All the staff from the front desk to the hygienist, are top notch. Julie did a cleaning and polish for me recently, and she deserves special mention. She is personable, calm, and funny. She was full of helpful advice and her personality made my visit very entertaining (not something I thought I would ever say about a visit to the dentist). It is always a great feeling when a health care professional really cares about their patients, and Julie is in another league in that regard. The team at Smiles Dental legitimately makes me want to take care better care of my oral health, so I don't let them down!!!

Fantastic experience: I was intimidated by the process of getting dentures. There are lots of decisions to make along the way. Dr Alva Jinn and his team, from the front reception, to the X-ray staff, to the dental assistants, were all helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would give them six stars if I could. From surgery, to multiple extractions, and multiple fillings they answered my questions and are still guiding through the process. I am very thankful for the care they put into their work.

Right from the start, the administrative staff was super friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. They made us feel comfortable right away. Very knowledgeable, explained everything clearly for both kids and adults, and was so gentle and kind throughout the appointment. You can tell she really cares. Fantastic experience: I took my four kids there all at the same time and Julie our hygienist was great with all four - she even kept them all under entertained during each others cleaning. Spoke to them in ways they would understand how important it was to take care of their teeth. She also was very individual with each of them, making sure they are using the right toothpaste for their own mouths. Highly recommend seeing Julie there. Loved the cleaning she did on my teeth too!! She was great with him explaining about the importance of cleaning and even did a plaque review with him showing the areas needing more attention. Very professional and great with kids. Fantastic experience: I recently had my dental treatment at Smile Dental, and I want to share my wonderful experience. When I first came in, I was a bit nervous about whether I would understand everything, since English is not my first language and medical terminology can sometimes be difficult. To my great relief, there was Alona Marenets, who explained everything to me clearly and translated when needed. She performs her duties with genuine care for the patient. Alona is kind, polite, and makes you feel completely comfortable. As a dental assistant, she was also very gentle and attentive throughout the entire procedure. Thank you to the entire team for such a positive experience, individual approach, and well-chosen staff.

Fantastic experience: Broke a filling off over thanksgiving weekend and possibly from over aggressive cleaning I had done there but they were quick to get me in the next day early morning and fixed up better than it was before. All n all they been a good place to go to.

Fantastic experience: The clinic asked for a review. We are thankful the tooth was taken care of by this clinic and they were very flexible with helping him. They examined the tooth although it would have been good for have had my husband’s desire to have it pulled immediately: they found an appointment at a different Smile clinic for the next morning. All went as good as expected! They try to get you to save the tooth with root canal therapy, but this has been proven to cause infection problems down the road…or at the very least, your body’s resources drained from fighting the dead tooth .

Fantastic experience: Smiles is new to me.I Needed a check up for my root canal, DR.Lam Michael’s actually went ahead and decided to do it , right there on the spot even though it was a afternoon appointment. HE did a really good job!! I appreciated that so this will be my new spot for dental. I recommended this Smiles! @ Calgary Trail.

Fantastic experience: Got my wisdom tooth removed yesterday and cleaning done couple months ago! The staff is professional knowledgeable and dentist Casey Wong is amazing! Highly professional, educated and expert in what he’s doing. Procedure was quick, efficient and heals quickly. Did not expect my surgery to go super smooth!!!

Negative experience: Do not go to this clinic. Do not go to any of its affiliates. They will over-diagnose you. I visited Smiles Dental in April of 2024 for a routine cleaning and to have my wisdom teeth out. While in the waiting room for my cleaning, I overheard another patient talking about booking for 8 cavities. When I saw Dr. Haymour, he told me I had 9 CAVITIES. I have always been very anxious to go to the dentist, and I am a student on a tight budget, with minimal benefits. I was very upfront about that. I was also upfront about the fact that I am prone to cavities. Because I have had cavities in the past, I know how it feels for me when they start to develop, and I had not had any sensitivity or other indication of cavities. While I know that sensitivity is not always there, especially in the early stages, I did not feel like I had any cavities. When I asked which teeth were a priority, as I could not afford to have all 9 CAVITIES filled, he kept telling me they all just needed to be done because you don't know how fast cavities can progress. I left the office even more anxious than when I went in. I cried the whole way home, because I did not know how I was going to afford to do my wisdom teeth and all of those cavities, and this would mean many more trips for dental work than I was comfortable with. I decided to get my wisdom teeth dealt with first, and waited until the new year to have the cavities filled, because I needed my benefits to reset. Thankfully, my wisdom teeth were too complex to be done in their offices, so they referred me to an excellent oral surgeon. Between April 2024 and July 2025, I told several people of my 9 cavities, and which clinic I visited. I was encouraged to seek another opinion, as MULTIPLE PEOPLE TOLD ME THAT THEY HEARD THE SAME THING FROM THIS CHAIN, and when they got a second, or even third opinion, that they DID NOT HAVE THAT MANY CAVITIES, IF ANY. I began seeing another dentist this year, who confirmed THAT OVER A YEAR AFTER BEING TOLD I HAVE 9 CAVITIES, I DO NOT HAVE A SINGLE CAVITY. NOT ONE. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Fantastic experience: l had my dental hygiene session today with hygienist Julie she is highly experienced and professional, It was a great experience! She is gentle, yet the cleaning is very thorough. She makes sure everything is done properly and informs you if she notices any potential issues. Happy with the results and experience and highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I was in Edmonton for work when I was flossing my teeth and I popped out a filling and had a very sensitive tooth. I was surprised that I was able to get into this clinic so quickly (I know that’s not always possible), and then taking me being an out of town patient.
