Gateway Pediatric Dentistry

Fantastic experience: We had to take our three year old daughter in to get 2 teeth extracted. Everyone in the clinic was so friendly the dentist and hygienist were amazing and made her feel so comfortable. We have used the gateway pediatric dental clinic in st Albert and Sherwood park and both places have been top notch.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with gateway Paediatric dentistry We originally saw dr graham he was wonderful with my daughter made her comfortable as possible as well as all the nurse assistants helping her feel comfortable with going to the dentist Dr. Palmer is the one who had recently conducted my daughter’s dental surgery on January 13th he was amazing he did great with my daughter and reassured me she was in great hands as well helped me feel calmer as I was so nervous about the whole process. I couldn’t be more thankful for the experience we had with gateway on Calgary trail. And a shout out to the surgery coordinator Amy Palmer for taking all my emails with all my questions with grace! Thank you for all your help with the preparations up until the day of the surgery.

Fantastic experience: I work in the dental field myself and always receive referrals from this office. I decided to bring my son here and I am so glad I did! My son is ASD and we’ve had some challenges at other offices with the doctors getting too frustrated trying to understand his fears and hesitation of new things. Patricia and Dr. C were so wonderful, patient, and my son successful completed a checkup! Thank you for your patience and kid-friendly environment!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Graham has been the dentist for my 3 children for over 13 years. After trying many dentists, he was by far my kids favourite. He is not only very interactive with the kids, he is very kind and gentle with them. The appointment is always finished before the kids realise it. My younger 2 were the toughest to coax to open their mouth, only Dr. Graham was successful in making them feel comfortable enough to open up. He was super kind and patient with me and my youngest son, who was the most difficult to manage in terms of fear and anxiety related to dental visits. Because of Dr. Graham, he no longer has fear or anxiety related to dental visits. Dr. Graham is always at the same level as his patients and his sense of humour is great. My children are a bit older now and are in the process of being aged out. After my son’s recent visit and hearing that Dr. Graham does not practice dentistry with adults / older children, my son was disappointed and said that we’ll never find an ‘adult dentist’ as good or as nice as him. He truly is the best medical professional (in all medical fields) that my children have had.

Positive experience: It was a fairly seamless process, as per usual. However, this time, my daughter was hooked up to the laughing gas for a good 40-50 mins before they actually started doing the work- I was told 15 mins prior is standard. This made me a little uncomfortable and I did voice it to the assistant, as the dentist was in and out multiple times tending to other cases simultaneously. I don’t think this is something a parent should have to be clear about from the start- it should be a clear policy.

Fantastic experience: They e always been amazing with our boys. The only complaint we ever had is no longer valid as they now direct bill insurance taking away the only negative part of the experience (paying upfront and then applying to insurance for reimbursement)

Fantastic experience: Easy parking, easy to find. Lovely play areas for children near reception and in the back area. Dentist was quick thorough and kind. Reception was also helpful and kind. I will be taking both my kids here and will use our family dentist for myself.

They allowed me to get them settled with toys and offered to help. The dentist was kind and put them at ease. It was a quick and painless visit!

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience taking my little ones to get their teeth checked & cleaned at Gateway. The hygienist was very patient and accommodating to my apprehensive son. She went above and beyond to make sure both of my kids were comfortable. The dentist Dr Palmer also had the same demeanour when dealing with them. He spoke to them by name and my kids were very comfortable with him. You can tell this is a clinic that loves kids! I’m relieved that my little ones will grow up looking forward going to the dentist instead of being fearful of it.

Fantastic experience: Really positive vibes, but I need to give a shoutout to my dental hygienist Trish! She was so attentive and caring. Not only did she scrape off residue glue from my braces that has been left unnoticed for three years, she cleaned my glasses while we waited for the doctor, and was exceptional with the X-rays. She noticed I wore crocs and showed me that they had croc charms as prizes too! She was incredibly patient :) She made the experience so much better and a brilliant example of customer service.

When they checked us in they mentioned we were at the wrong location, but they put us in anyway and in a timely manner. The staff was super friendly and our dentist was very kind and relateable. Fantastic experience: Their client care was excellent! My eldest had seen them several years ago, and while the procedure went well there were instances of poor client care. When I brought those up now that my youngest needs the same procedure they were extremely open to the feedback, and were clearly upset that we'd had that experience in the first place. Their care for the patient as well as the parent were exceptional, including a follow up the next day. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate the care and compassion we received. Thank you!

Negative experience: Dr. Jessica Holownia was very professional and did a great job with my son's cavities. Thank you! However, the hygienist that was assisting (I unfortunately didn't get her name) settled us into the operatory and told us the plan for my son. Which was to get two filings done on the top molars and to pull out a bottom molar. I was taken aback because this was not what was discussed the day before with the denist. So I informed her and she laughed- said she put us in the wrong treatment room. (What if I didn't correct her? Would my son have one less tooth!?) In addition, the same hygienist was blown away at how many young kids I had with me (4 kids) and processed to ask if all my children had the same father... In my opinion, that's an absurd question to ask a patient. VERY unprofessional!

Fantastic experience: We love Dr. Graham and the team at Gateway. The team of hygienists are incredible with kids, and my kiddo always leaves so excited and happy. Their goal is to help your kiddo love the dentist. TVs on the ceiling are so smart. Little chairs. They get tokens after their visit to use in little toy machines. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, but it’s worth it!!!

Fantastic experience: I am A mother of a very high stress, high anxiety, child, who does not do well with dentists. My child doesn’t like anybody working in her mouth or even looking at it the wrong way. Lol Her experience was amazing, she was calm the whole time and she allowed the doctor and his helpers to do everything they needed to do without complaint. Thank you so much. Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Gateway. My 7 year old had some cavities and we were referred here from our usual dentist. I'll definitely be coming here moving forward for my kiddos. My son got the laughing gas, enjoyed cartons during the fillings procedure and didn't even realize it had been done when it was over. He also loved the super cool way he got to pick his prizes at the end. My 3 year old went the next day for her first cleaning and it was another seamless experience. Highly recommend for anyone with kiddos who are maybe scared of the dentist or are overall looking for positive experiences.

Fantastic experience: They have the perfect setup for kids. I took my 6 year old there while I had my 2 year old and there was enough toys and play places everywhere for my toddler to stay entertained while my daughter got taken care of by the dentist. And honestly staff is so accommodating.
