2 months ago Negative experience: Went in for an initial dental consult. Chaotic office, but all seemed okay at first — staff seemed friendly enough and the dentist consult went fine. That is, until after! Somewhere between the dentist and the staff, the details of my follow-up treatments got completely lost (or lost in translation). None of the office replies matched what was discussed with the dentist, and there was little care or effort to help or course correct. No follow-up was ever received until I prompted for one. Frustrating and felt like a total waste of time. Update: Just found out this dental office received info from my insurance company in Nov and in mid Feb. Yet they didn't contact me. When I reached out to follow-up in Dec and early Feb, both times they said they hadn't heard back from my insurance yet? Yikes guys, get it together over there! A lot of balls being dropped...

Insurance estimates can sometimes be challenging because insurance companies do not allow them to be sent electronically for some procedures and require communication by mail. When this happens, delays can occur — mail can be lost or insurance companies may respond with additional questions rather than confirming coverage.
Our team checks these requests on weekly basis, and we have dedicated staff who support patients through this process. We also encourage patients to keep an eye on their insurance mail, email, or app for updates, as insurers often respond faster directly to the policy holder than to the dental office.
That said, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or delays you experienced. Our goal is always to make sure you have clear information about your treatment and any financial responsibility so you can move forward with care as soon as possible.

3 months ago Fantastic experience: I am a newer patient and found K Smiles Dental Care by straight research. I have had very bad experiences with other dental clinics, and have dental issues that seem to arise more often than not. I was desperately seeking amazing dentists, assistants, and office staff - both in professional experience and compassion. K Smiles did NOT disappoint. From the moment you walk into the office every single staff member you are greeted by makes you feel very welcomed. They are always smiling and super friendly. I have been treated by Dr K, and Dr Matthew; both who are absolutely great Dentists. The time and care they take to listen to my concerns, treat my dental needs and explain the issues and remedies is unmatched. Their assistants are equally attentive and caring. I have probably made more visits there in the past 6 months than people do in a year +, and every single one has been very positive - even when my issue wasn't. 3 months ago Negative experience: I recently had a disappointing experience at K Smile Dental Clinic. During my first appointment, which was covered by insurance, about an hour was spent taking X-rays, and I was later told they were lost and needed to be redone. Only half of my teeth were cleaned, and I was informed I would need another appointment to complete the cleaning, costing over $200 out of pocket. This was unexpected and frustrating. I hope the clinic improves its organization and communication for a more transparent experience in the future.

Regarding the cleaning, some patients require more time depending on buildup and gum health. It is our duty to inform you of what is best for your oral health and what additional care may be needed. During your visit, we completed the portion covered by your insurance and gave you a heads-up that more time would be required to finish. You were not charged for anything beyond your coverage, and it is always completely your choice whether to proceed with any recommended treatment.
Insurance plans determine how much cleaning time they cover, and once that limit is reached, we cannot control those decisions. Our role is to provide clear information, explain your options, and allow you to decide how you would like to move forward.
As for the X-rays, all images are stored securely in our system. In some cases, additional images may be needed if a file does not save properly or if the images are not clinically clear enough. This happens rarely and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by it. Our priority is always accuracy and making sure we have the proper information to care for your oral health safely.

From the first contact, the high level of organization, professionalism, and respectful treatment from the entire team was evident. The staff demonstrated attentiveness, kindness, and a genuine commitment to the patient's well-being, which inspired confidence from the start. I especially want to highlight their compassionate approach, which they demonstrated in the preparation, the clarity with which they explained the procedure, and the precise and careful handling throughout the treatment by the professional. The work performed was of excellent quality and fully met my expectations. It is clear that this is a well-coordinated team with high professional standards and a strong dedication to service. I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic for the quality of its care, its professional ethics, and the excellent results achieved. I would also like to mention that it is a bilingual service (Spanish-English); they even provided me with an Uber to take me home.

3 months ago Negative experience: Inexperienced staff and I always pay out money in hundreds of dollars even after a good insurance. They do services which are not covered in insurance and I end up paying money out of pocket. This happened several times to me.

We want to clarify that insurance plans decide which services are covered and which are not — that part is determined by the insurance company, not our office. What we do have is a dedicated team that works hard to check coverage ahead of time and provide estimates and a range of what the balance may be for upcoming appointments, so patients can plan ahead whenever possible. When we are uncertain about the coverage, we provide the cost of the next appointment.
Sometimes, insurance companies don’t show all limits or details in advance, and those decisions are outside of our control. While we do our best to stay ahead of this, we’re not the ones who decide or approve coverage. Our role is to do what’s best for our patients, keep them informed, and give a clear heads-up about any potential balances before treatment.

3 months ago Fantastic experience: My 5 year old had a great visit at this practice. Staff professional and friendly. Gave me an estimate of the cost prior to my daughter’s appt as I do not have dental insurance. The CDA Ari was awesome, he was able to get X-rays for my daughter and she has a very small mouth but he was clearly very good with children and he helped out his fellow team member that was very new to the practice and it was refreshing to see a healthy team dynamic at this practice. This team is efficient and the office modern and the whole process from beginning to end was easy and patient focused which was great. Dr. K was knowledgeable and thorough and gave me a clear outline of her findings and a reasonable estimate for the fillings etc that need to be addressed. My daughter was comfortable with Dr. K and left very happy with a sticker from the treasure box. I appreciated the care and kindness of the staff. I would highly recommend this office.

4 months ago Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my experience with K Smiles Dental and feel it is important to share it publicly. I contacted this office multiple times explaining that I am on ODSP and that I suffer from severe agoraphobia. This is not a preference, inconvenience, or lack of effort on my part. It is a diagnosed mental health condition that significantly limits my ability to travel safely and consistently. I was very clear that this clinic is one of the only dental offices close enough for me to realistically attend without risking panic attacks or complete inability to leave my home. Despite explaining this clearly and respectfully, I was repeatedly dismissed and ultimately refused as a patient. I even offered to pay toward the cost of treatment out of pocket in an attempt to make care possible. At no point was there a meaningful discussion, alternative suggestion, or attempt to work with me in any capacity. Mental health is healthcare. Agoraphobia is a disability. Being on ODSP already comes with barriers, and being turned away without compassion or flexibility only reinforces the stigma faced by people with mental health conditions. When a medical office refuses to engage with a patient who is actively trying to access care responsibly, it sends a clear message about whose health is considered worthy of effort. Dental pain and dental disease do not pause because someone has a mental illness or limited income. Anxiety disorders do not disappear because policies are rigid. Access to care should not depend on whether someone’s disability is visible or convenient. I expected professionalism, understanding, and basic humanity. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed, unheard, and further discouraged from seeking necessary medical care. If you are on ODSP, live with severe anxiety or agoraphobia, or require understanding around mental health limitations, I strongly recommend confirming this office’s willingness to accommodate you before assuming you will be treated with care or respect. This experience reflects a larger issue around mental health stigma in healthcare settings, and I hope this office reflects on how situations like mine are handled in the future.

4 months ago Negative experience: Billed after being told insurance would cover it and giving them all the time needed to make sure it would be covered and double checking. Even kept the original receipt. Walking really fast on the way to the back for an x ray was very unpleasant too. Not the place to rush.

4 months ago Fantastic experience: I took my son here for an emergency visit; he's autistic and prone to anxiety, and I have a hard time getting him to play along with any kind of health care. The staff at K Smiles were amazing! They knew exactly how to put him at ease. They took the time to explain and demonstrate the tools and make him laugh. They also were extremely quick and through. Bonus points for being absolutely meticulous on hygiene.

4 months ago Fantastic experience: Recently visited to have a back molar fixed and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Desk staff are very personable and the dental assistant was really nice to work with (I’m horrible with names) main Dentist was incredibly thorough and gave me all my options as well as costs BEFORE doing any work. They seem to genuinely care about patient well being instead of focussing on how much money they can earn. I will definitely be using K-Smiles as my dentist in the future.

5 months ago Negative experience: I have dental coverage through Sun Life that covers dental cleanings based on yearly scaling units. During my visit, the clinic only cleaned half of my teeth and then told me I would need to pay out of pocket to complete the rest. This was never explained in advance, and I did not consent to extra charges. I later called the office to explain the situation very clearly. The staff member kept saying, “it’s not about money.” I asked her to prove that by booking the follow-up cleaning without charging me, since I am covered. Instead of resolving the issue, the clinic refused to proceed and cancelled my appointment. At that point, it became clear that this was about money, not patient care or clear communication. Patients deserve transparency, respect, and honest explanations before treatment begins, not after. This experience left me feeling frustrated, dismissed, and taken advantage of. I don't recommend to family and friends Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that my concern has never been about receiving free services, but about clear communication and informed consent before treatment begins. At no point before or during the appointment was I told that my coverage would only allow for part of the cleaning to be completed, nor was I asked whether I consented to stopping halfway or proceeding with additional time at my own expense. That information was only communicated after half of the cleaning was already done, which is the core issue. While I understand that coverage limits can vary and that some patients may require more time, this is exactly why expectations and costs should be explained in advance, not after treatment has started. Transparency before proceeding allows patients to make informed decisions. When I called to discuss this and requested a reasonable resolution, the follow-up appointment was cancelled instead of the issue being addressed, which left me feeling dismissed rather than heard. I appreciate the response, but I stand by my feedback: patients deserve clear explanations and agreement before treatment, not after. My review reflects that experience.

We’d like to clarify a few things. There were no extra charges, and you were not billed beyond what your insurance covered. During your visit, our team completed the part of the cleaning that was covered and explained that more time would be needed to finish. Some people need more cleaning time than others, and when we see that, we take photos and explain everything during the visit so patients can see and understand it for themselves.
Insurance companies often do not allow us to see full coverage details in advance, so limits are not always clear at the start of a visit. As soon as this information becomes clear, we share it right away so patients can decide how they’d like to proceed.
We always try to give patients a heads-up when insurance will not cover future visits, which is what happened here. Unfortunately we cannot always gather this information ahead of time because of insurance company limitations. We work hard to get as much information as possible from insurance companies, but we are not the insurance provider, and coverage limits are sometimes only clear as we proceed and are not based on specific needs yet we are always transparent with costs to avoid any surprises. While patient care and education are always our top priority, we’re not able to provide services that aren’t covered for free, as we need to fairly support our hard working team providing that high quality care to our patients.

6 months ago Fantastic experience: I went to K smiled for the first time after not going to the dentist for a while & I was treated with such wonderful care. They made sure I didn’t feel nervous or anxious, and explained everything that had to be done. I was able to make decisions without feeling pressured & I felt like they wanted to work with me so that I could have the best dental care possible. I am very thankful to all of the staff as well as Dr. K for the support and the fantastic work they did. Looking forward to continue my dental plan in an environment that is stress free.

7 months ago Fantastic experience: I booked an appointment for cleaning and it was a great experience at K Smiles Dental Care. The reception staff is welcoming and very responsive. They provided every information whichever I did ask them even on call. I was attended by 3 dentists for X-rays and cleaning , and I would say that they were very professional. Dr.Shumaila did the cleaning and she was talking with me while the whole process which made me very comfortable. A huge round of applause for her. I would love to recommend this place to my friends as well.

Growing up with small cracked, chipped and painful teeth made it Difficult to have that 'Great Smile'. You know, the Smile Everyone Dreams of. Nicely Shaped, Pretty WHITE Teeth. 7 months ago Fantastic experience: My daughter had a cracked tooth and they were able to take us right away. Even though my daughter was nervous, the dentist assured her she didn't have to go through with the extraction if she was not ready. The dentist was vert gentle and patient knowing how nervous my daughter was. I give a 5 star based on the dentist who made sure my daughter had options on proceeding with or not. Front desk was very friendly and helpful, I got my cleaning done from Juveria - the hygienist. She was very professional and did a good job! Lana helped me make a treatment plan that I was comfortable with and was very kind and understanding. The staff are warm and welcoming, tvs on the ceiling to distract you. Clean and nice inside.

I came in for an emergency root canal cap replacement, and they took care of me right away with kindness, skill, and care. From the receptionist to the technicians, assistants, and doctors, every single person has been friendly, genuine, and amazing. Every step along the way has been handled with warmth and professionalism, and it completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. The clinic is spotless, modern, and relaxing. I even saw them 3D printing a crown for another patient right in front of me, which was incredible to watch. They offer a comfort menu with blankets, essential oils, Netflix, stress balls, ceiling TVs, and local anesthesia to make sure you feel completely at ease. They also have a bunch of technology that’s truly reinvented the dental experience. Even their new saliva suction system makes everything hassle-free so you can just relax and breathe. It’s genuinely amazing. They built a personalized care plan and dental profile for me to help plan my long-term care and start restoring my smile. I’ve been there three days in a row for different treatments, and every visit has been just as great as the last. Payments and insurance were handled quickly and easily with no stress at all. If you want a dental team that’s caring, modern, and truly passionate about helping people, K Smiles is the place to go. 6/5 stars!

8 months ago Fantastic experience: I came to this office with pain - received by welcoming staff.with smile. It was my first time so needed full mouth x-rays to be done, to determine the cause. Doctor and hygienist Arthi both were pleasant and calm, and discussed my options. I have to make future visits, but definitely a good experience.

9 months ago Fantastic experience: The office looks clean, the desk people didn’t answer right away but called me back quickly. A consultation appointment was set up for the next day and I was satisfied with the dentist that explained every option I had with my broken tooth.
