Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would! Dr. Sarna and Haidy had no problem taking full payment for my child’s orthodontic treatment, only to sell their Hamilton practice and leave town within weeks of me signing the contract. I was given absolutely no notice that they were planning to leave. They were more than happy to be paid in full before disappearing. After the sale, I was told by the new office owners that Dr. Sarna and Haidy were still responsible for providing treatment. Unfortunately, that’s when the situation became even worse. Haidy frequently cancels appointments at the last minute, especially Friday afternoon appointments. These cancellations disrupt our schedule and delay my daughter’s treatment. I can’t help but think that if I canceled last minute, I would be charged a fee without hesitation. Instead of providing consistent care in Hamilton, where I specifically chose to receive treatment, they repeatedly suggest booking appointments at their Milton office. That would require me to take time off work and travel out of town, which I did not agree to when I signed the treatment plan. I chose a Hamilton orthodontist for a reason. Due to the repeated cancellations and lack of availability, my daughter’s treatment is being delayed. I have never seen Dr. Sarna personally check her progress or even examine her during appointments. When I raised concerns about the missed appointments and lack of service, I was met with excuses rather than accountability. At one point, I was told, “Well, your daughter has braces in her mouth, doesn’t she?” Simply placing braces is not the same as providing ongoing, proper orthodontic care, especially when adjustments are missed. I also discovered that most supplies were removed from the Hamilton office, leaving limited materials available for repairs. When an elastic broke, we were told to travel to Milton instead of being properly accommodated in Hamilton. When I asked about scheduling upcoming appointments, I was told they didn’t yet know their schedule for the next two weeks. Meanwhile, I am expected to book months in advance. That inconsistency is unacceptable. Overall, I feel misled and extremely disappointed in the level of professionalism and care provided. I would strongly caution others to carefully consider their options before committing to treatment here.

Fantastic experience: Hawthorne village has been my dentist for over 25 years don’t trust no one else

Negative experience: Very disappointed with quality and customer service I wore the night guard for one night and noticed two small areas of missing material. I went back and the dentist suggested polishing it and trying again, and said to come back if the problem persisted. I tried it one more night — same issue. They then agreed to make a new night guard and again told me to come back if the same problem happened. After wearing the new one for just one night, the exact same problem occurred. When I went back to request a refund, the administrator initially refused. She said she didn’t care what the dentists told us, claimed they had no authority, and said she was the one who made the decisions. This was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. She refused to acknowledge the poor quality of the night guards and even discredited their own three dentists just to avoid responsibility. After arguing with her for about 20 minutes, she finally agreed to a partial refund only. I ended up paying $100 for nothing. Very disappointed with both the product quality and, more importantly, the terrible customer service. I would not recommend this place.

Her kind-heartedness, gentle hands, and calm, comforting personality make every appointment feel stress-free. She always checks on me throughout the entire visit to make sure I’m okay, and she never rushes anything. After each appointment, she gives me clear post-care instructions and helpful advice on how to keep my teeth healthy long-term. Because of her careful and professional work, I’ve never experienced any swelling, bruising, or pain after my treatments — something I can’t say about any dentist I’ve been to before. What I appreciate most is that she always listens. I feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for every time I see her. Dr. Noha goes above and beyond for her patients, and it truly shows.

Negative experience: Very Disappointed with Our Experience I had a very upsetting experience at Hawthorne Village Dental Care - Milton location with my three children. During my 4-year-old’s appointment with Dr. Noha, he began crying and clearly signaled that he needed a break by raising his hand, but she continued the procedure instead of stopping to comfort or reassure him. It was heartbreaking to watch him so distressed. I even tried to intervene by saying, “If this is too much, we should stop and try again another day,” but Dr. Noha kept talking over me, saying, “I’m not hurting you, we’re almost done.” A few hours after my 8-year-old had one cavity filled, he came home with noticeable swelling on the side of his face where the work was done, which I initially thought might be normal. However, later that night, the swelling turned into visible bruising around his mouth. He has had fillings before at another clinic and has never had this kind of reaction. Completely unacceptable. My 10-year-old daughter also had a filling done, and the dentist didn’t even come out afterward to explain the procedure or discuss next steps. she was simply sent back to the waiting room. I understand that dental visits can be challenging for children, but I expect compassion, patience, and proper care especially from a pediatric-friendly clinic. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. The dentists at this clinic are not the right choice for families with young children.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Noha and the team were wonderful to deal with. True professionals and very warm people. Dr. Noha is extremely skilled, had dental bonding done, completely upgraded my smile big time. I highly recommend her work. The hygienists provide great work as well!

Fantastic experience: I had my first experience with Dr. Sarna this week. I was SO nervous. I have severe dental anxiety and dysphagia, which makes it very difficult. Both him and his assistant were absolutely amazing. So patient and understanding and made adjustments to help me get through the filling without any trauma! I’m actually excited that there is a method that will work for me in the future! I feel much more relaxed about my teeth now! Thank you guys so so much! I feel empowered instead of nervous for the first time in 33 years!

Fantastic experience: Was looking for a dentist after moving to Milton and tried a couple before walking into Hathorne Village Dental. Got a simple cleaning job done and was happy with the staff. They are professional and accommodating. Have been going for over a year now and haven't had any issues. In fact just got my wisdom teeth extracted (all 4 at the same time). Very rarely does a dentist call a patient on a weekend to inquire about how they are feeling after the procedure. Very satisfied with the service.

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hawthorne Clinic. I had booked an appointment just yesterday and received confirmation over chat, which I still have as proof on my phone. However, when I arrived today, I was told there was no appointment scheduled and that it was a “human error.” Despite showing them the proof, nothing was done to accommodate me while I was already in the clinic. This was not only a complete waste of my time, but it also disrupted my family plans. The lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable, especially in a medical clinic where patients rely on accurate communication and proper care. I expected the staff to take responsibility and try to resolve the situation, but instead, I was left feeling dismissed. Because of this experience, I have lost confidence in the clinic. My wife, my daughter, and I have all been patients here, but after today we will not be coming back. A clinic should value its patients, respect their time, and provide reliable service unfortunately, Hawthorne Clinic has failed to do so

Fantastic experience: Update: Dr. R. Sarna, he called back and dealt with the situation that the receptionist cause. Thanks for follow up doctor! I’ve been a patient at your clinic for nearly two years and have consistently received exceptional care from Dr. Noha and today by Dr. R. Sarna. Their expertise and kindness made every visit a positive experience. However, during my appointment on *July 24*for a crown procedure, I encountered a deeply concerning issue with administrative staff. Upon finish, the administrative employee at the front desk: 1. Demanded full upfront payment, for the treatment, refusing to process my Manulife insurance. 2. Dismissed my concerns by stating, "This is how we run our clinic—we don’t bill insurance for these procedures”. 3. Displayed rudeness and lack of transparency, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional interaction. This was the -first time in my life-I’ve been asked to pay out-of-pocket at a healthcare facility instead of using insurance. Had I been informed of this policy in advance, I could have made an informed decision about proceeding. The issue is not about cost—it’s about honesty, transparency, and respect for patients’ rights, to avoid any kind of discomfort at the front office. When I later called to discuss this with the managing doctor (clinic owner), the receptionist stated he was too busy and unlikely to speak with him anytime soon. This dismissiveness further compounded my frustration. I value the clinical care here but urge you to address these administrative failures. Fantastic experience: I have a fear of all things dentist, but appointment by appointment coming to Hawthorne Drntal has helped ease my anxiety of dental visits. Stephanie is fantastic, patient, provides comfortable service and excellent bedside manner. I also had a dental emergency and was able to be seen same day and treated great. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: This place does not know who to manage time. My husband needed a root canal, they wanted him to come 4 different days. First appointment just did an exam and xrays second only took out part of the root due to not enough time. Then come back 2.5 weeks latter to take out the rest and then come back again to do the filling and then back again for the crown. I have never heard of a dentist doing this. Reception even admitted over the phone that there was never enough time to do the procedure.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about my experience at this clinic. Last summer I had an emergency was referred by a friend, and was seen right away. Since that time I have had a number of procedures, including a dental implant. Dr Sarna is exceptional, explained everything throughout the process, and reassured me so that I was comfortable every step of the way. Over the last few months I have come in contact with many of the dental assistants and they have all been fabulous and so caring. Today I got my tooth and I can’t believe how natural it looks. Fantastic experience: Today was my first time visiting Hawthorne Dental and it was fantastic! I was greeted by Sabrina and Kulvir at the front desk and shortly after, went into the room to complete my appointment. I was given thorough x-rays and a full cleaning. Very happy with the way Stephanie (the hygienist) took care of me and made me feel comfortable during this experience as I have not been to the dentist in 3 years. I will definitely be going back in 6 months for my next cleaning.

Negative experience: The receptionist who answer a phone is really rude. I was about to say a reason why I need to cancel next appointment, but she said 'I don't understand what you're saying at all and I don't need to know the reason.' in a really annoying voice. I wouldn't have felt bad if she said the same thing in a friendly way. My English is not my native language, and I have an accent. But, a receptionist and a dentist who I met here also have an accent, clearly they are from overseas. The staff who answer the phone has no accent at all and seems like a native here. I don't understand why she reacted like that although she must've heard English with an accent many times. I can't handle the insurance now because I'm on probation, so I wanted to book again at the end of the probationary period, but I don't think I'll come back here again.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, knowledgeable team of professionals. I would highly recommend these folks. I have straight teeth for the first time in 50 years, I couldn't be happier. The front teeth were crooked badly indented and didn't have a wide framework of teeth. Now they're straight and you can actually see my teeth.

Negative experience: I went for a teeth cleaning but ended up being advised to get an x-ray. The cleaning was quick, less than 15 minutes, but my insurance was billed for various services. I never received any follow-up on the x-ray results, and I'm unsure if a dentist was even present during my visit. Proceed with caution if you choose to go there.

Negative experience: Great dentists but very disappointed by the unprofessional conduct of the administrative staff. I had lost my dental coverage at the time of my prior visit in 2023. At this visit, I asked for an estimated cost as I was paying out of pocket. After receiving an estimate (which took 2 minutes), I proceeded with the recommended services. Prior to this, I had never really cared about cost as my plan generally covered 90% of everything. I guess it’s too challenging for a medical office to look up cost for a service code for a patient paying out of pocket? My middle class request was so offensive that my name was changed to “Always Wants Estimates” in their practice software/EMR. I now have the pleasure of receiving invitations to book an appointment, while being addressed as “Dear Always Wants Estimates”. I have always had the fortune of having great insurance coverage, with the exception of a short gap only once during my career (and I have coverage again). I can’t imagine the undignified treatment patients must put up with if they lack financial resources or are going through hardship. If I experienced this in my one short window of not having coverage for a couple months, how do Refugees, women facing abuse, new immigrants cope? If this is accidentally put in the name section of their EMR, I’d hate to see what’s in my chart and on the notes section. Whoever wrote this: please be a better human.

Positive experience: First of all, I would like to say that the dentist and the assistant are both nice and I really had a great service experience. I supposed to give 5/5 but the receptionist/billing weren’t honest. I’m an accountant by the way so I’m very strict as to what I am paying. As far as I know, my insurance covers 100% for the procedure I did. However, I was really shock that I had to pay more than I expected (mental calculation). By the time I settled the bill, my cheek was numb because of anesthesia and I was not in a good situation to analyze so I just simply asked a question “why my payable amount is $$$?!” so the lady told me it’s because my insurance covers only 90% which is not true. It really bothered me so I reviewed it when I got home. Based on my calculation, I even paid more than 10% so that means less than 90% were only covered. Checking the on the notes, I figured that my insurance can cover 100% only up to the suggested price of the dental association. Just happened that the charges of the clinic was more than that, which is fine because the quality of service deserves it anyway. It’s just the bad business practice of not explaining things properly to hide that the fees are more than the standard. I’m really sad of giving 3/5 stars because the service was really remarkable. I also wrote this review to share awareness regarding the insurance coverage vs. the suggested price of the dental association. So even the coverage is 100%, any amount exceeds from the suggested price of the dental association of Ontario will be shouldered by the patient. Please take note of that. That’s different from hearing “Your insurance covers only 90%”. Thanks for reading and I hope this review helped the reader. I still 100% recommend this dental clinic but read carefully the fine print before tapping your card on the machine.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Hawthorne Village Dental Care for 4 years and each time i have gotten the best service and experience always from every Dental Hygienist that i met. However, i would like to call out one in particular, Stephanie Decotiis. She made me feel comfortable very skilled and patient in her work and had positive feedback on my oral health. I would recommend her always to anyone that would ask.

Fantastic experience: I and my family are regular patients of Hawthorne Dental Care where I have done cleaning, filling, x ready scanning, and wisdom tooth extraction, and other services. They are very professional and I really like their services: high higene and non-cheap material. Very friendly staff as well. They always follow up with me and remind me of my coming appointments and automatically send the bills to my insurance company.

Fantastic experience: Our whole family uses Hawthorne Dental for the many services they provide: cleaning, cavity filling, root canals, crowns, braces, etc and we’ve always been well taken care of and won’t go anywhere else! Negative experience: I've been a patient for the past 2 years but my last dental trip was unpleasant and unsatisfactory and I'm sharing this for awareness and heads up. I went in for regular cleaning and to get my wisdom tooth checked and filled if needed as it was painful. I was advised to book an appointment for a tooth extraction. Just for context, I had already been charged for a full oral examination in the previous appointment. To my surprise, I was charged again for the examination which was not fair and acceptable and not even covered by my insurance. When I inquired about the charges, the response and customer service I received from the receptionist and doctor were not good and friendly, they seemed rude and did not bother to resolve the issue and rather justified it the whole time. I had no choice but to escalate the matter to the manager. Though the manager cooperated and issue was resolved later and I was refunded for the overpayment, the whole experience left a negative impression on me and I may not go back to the clinic anymore. I felt disappointed that had I not spoken up, I'd have been charged incorrectly out of pocket. Honestly, the money/charge was not a big deal if it was fair and made sense. As a patient, I have the option to go to any dental clinic for my dental care and I chose this one for the positive reviews and expected a trustworthy and friendly dentist.

The administrative staff are a well oiled machine. Anthony was so gentle with my teeth during the cleaning. Dr. Noha did an amazing job on my fillings and was so meticulous with her work. Fantastic experience: For the first time in my life going to many dentists I can finally say I had a wonderful experience. In the past Ive had some really bad ones so I am quite weary... most are ok but this last visit I actually left saying it was great!!! So gentle and painless and everything was done so fast (they even squeezed in extra work). I dont worry about going to the dentist anymore as long as I am coming here!

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been patients since moving to Milton over 4 years ago. Between general check-ups and cleanings, Invisalign for myself and braces for my son- we spend a lot of time at Hawthorne Dental. :-) The staff are so kind and helpful! They are very accommodating to fit us in around my work schedule (evening appointments are a huge help!!) Prices are also on par with other office we checked out. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I generally do not like going to the dentist but this is my favorite dentist office. They provide quality service by their kindness and efficient work. My dental hygienist Anthony does a great job cleaning my teeth and explaining how best to care for my teeth moving forward. Still a relatively new patient at this clinic but so far really enjoyable experience.

She was disappointed to learn she had a couple of cavities but she is actually excited to come back to get her fillings! Most painless dental experience ever!

Negative experience: Honestly worse place I can ever have been to. Been a customer for 2 years so was a little hesitant to move to a different place but after waiting for almost an hour Wait for each appointment in despite of having an appointment and getting into an argument with doctors and receptionist who refused to listen and let me speak, I am glad the decision have been made. They are incredibly unprofessional when it comes to making a customer's experience better. I recommended my whole family to this clinic but now decided to move to a different place. You need to realize we have been supporting you guys and don't deserve this experience when we have other choices available. Regret voting this ppl for best dental clinic nominations. Fantastic experience: I had a implant procedure performed on Dec 10 /2020 with Dr. Sarna and his dental staff ( including the smiling receptionists!) and I can say with confident that Dr. Sarna and his team of dedicated team make you feel "at home". So much appreciation, courtesy and patience ! Thanks Dr. Sarna. In my opinion, I feel that the dental profession and people you serve are blessed to have you as their dental surgeon. Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Noah. She did some dental fillings for me (closed a gap) and I am so incredibly happy with the work that she did! Additionally, the front reception staff have always been friendly and polite.

Negative experience: Two horrible experiences leads me to leave this review. My family’s first poor experience at this dentist was when my younger sister went for a minor procedure. She said it was so painful she cried through the whole thing. They didn’t stop, nor offer more freezing medication. I didn’t say anything or think much of it because I wasn’t there. Now for my situation: I had mentioned that I was interested in Invisalign, so they took my dental impressions for when I wanted to start. At the time I didn’t know when I’d be able to pay $2000 in one shot so I did not sign the papers, or tell them to order the trays. I don’t even have a credit card. They immediately ordered them anyway and informed me that they were ready - not sure what to do, I told them I would pay as soon as I could. Fast forward to my appointment a year later and the receptionist tells me that my trays have been sitting there and I need to pay for them. I obviously tell her I still don’t have the money, and she goes on to tell me that it’s “not fair to them” that I still haven’t paid. Mind you, I never signed for them! An expensive mistake on THEIR part. We literally stood there and argued for 10 minutes before she basically threatened me with their accounting department and said she’s not wasting anymore time on me. I asked to see the initial agreement papers and apparently they were destroyed as I hadn’t signed?! Instead of suggesting a payment plan or just waiting until I had the money.. now I’m never coming back. Dr. Sarna and the other dentists have always been very pleasant but this is a few too many incidents now for us to keep returning. * EDIT * That’s a very pleasant response compared to the text that I got from you guys cancelling “any and all future appointments” after I left this review. How does my sister walking out of your office crying in pain, equate to the issue being solved for all parties? What a joke.

Fantastic experience: I love going to the dentist. I know that may sound odd, but everyone at Hawthorne is so friendly, professional and they add some humour to the process. I have been going there for dental care over 7 years and I have had treatments such fillings, a root canal, and currently going through the implant process. I had just finished getting my x-rays done (so uncomfortable, isn't there new technology to make the experience less painful?) and thinking I might hate going to the dentist. Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience! Dr. Noah,Dr kordova and team at Hawthorne Dental were amazing with my 3 year old daughter. They made her experience at the dental office a memorable one. This is after two fillings. All the other dentist are Fantastic as well; whether cleaning or dental work. They listen to your concerns and give treatment options patient centred. My whole family have had a great experience with all the dentists and staff. The front office staff are also amazing; always pleasant and very helpful. 5 stars for the entire team!

Fantastic experience: About a year ago Dr. Sarna carried out two dental implants in my lower right side. He and his staff were very tentative and helped me throughout the process. I am very grateful and now enjoying my new implants.

Fantastic experience: I always had good experience, and appointment booking is a smooth process as well. I switched from other clinic to this one and it was a smart decision. I don't find them greedy for money as other clinics try their best to squeeze as much as possible from the insurance. Clinic is upstairs and not facing the derry road.
